How the hell did this not get instant air play when it was released? What on earth were DJ's grooving on in 1999? 15 years later this still grabs you from the first beat. Amazes to think this became a hit about a year after it got out.

Moby's music videos are all masterpieces, and were definitely essential for me to survive the childhood. Especially this one, that is quite overrated. And since I'm already here, if you still haven't read his autobiography, you have to. Seriously. He's a genius as human being too.

@@paigefrost4170 That is not accurate as well to an extent. From the sample used here 'Sometimes' by Bessie Jones: Until my honey comes home, Sometimes I want to rear back jack, Sometimes And get a hump in my back, Sometimes I’m going over here, Sometimes This could be inaccurate as well, since there are versions with 'rare' instead of 'rear'.

This reminds me of that misunderstood sense of existence, when we are born just to die, just to do some complicated things during our long and weird life and then just disappear again, vanish in that weird something from which we were born. Like that Moby in the video. He got up from the box, got somewhere weird, did some complicated things and all of these things he did in order to get back to the box. Like there's totally no sense in his existence.
@lordbarontrivantes8 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the perspective. But in life, we make choices, choices that affect lot more than ourselves. We have the chance to influence people's lives, in good/bad way. it need not be something huge, but small little steps of thinking more than about ourselves does impact the world.
@DoubleBread8 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah, that's how I pass through my life. I'm very careful with choices I make, I'm careful in what I say to others and how I act, but still I can't help myself with wondering: and what's next? Well, I make others' lives bad or good or whatever, but it's all for what I'm here? So what about them? Why they are here? To make others' lives bad or good or whatever too. So... who's the one for whom we all do that? Does he exist at all? There are so many questions with no answer. I call it 'The Border', a wall in man's mind beyond which he just can't go. It always fills me with some emptiness somehow.

Moby was so groundbreaking and cutting edge in the early 90s but well and truly sold himself out when it came to this. The fact it was the first album ever to have all it's songs used in media and advertisement campaigns proves the point. so cheesy and catchy- the perfect reason for it to be used in a commercial
