Eminem is the most intelligent rapper out there. he knows how to translate feelings, fear, hate and much more into words and doing it in an amazing fashion. @@brxkenspawn8774 I hear you, and l truly appreciate how hard it is when your own thoughts are doing one's head in... I really can relate to this scenario... Recently I stumbled upon music that had definitely helped me, relaxing subliminal music... You can easily find on KZbin... Play 24/7 if required, there is positive affirmations or subliminal that works on your subconscious... Point being... If you listen to positive affirmations whilst awake and then subliminal as you sleeping, you are literally bombarding your brain with positive stuff, and in my experience it starts to change your inner dialogue.... Pls at least try the above, positive stuff repeatedly can only bring on a positive response... I have faith if you just do a day at a time... Things do improve.. Saddest thing about this song is when i was little i didn't understand any of the songs but i loved them but now im 17 and it's more understandable which makes me love the song even more since all of us has been in his shoes it's sad as we grow up... edit wow I've never had this many likes before!! Thank you all! Update 2022 I have been struggling with depression and anxiety with my condition but I have been working hard throughout the ups and downs with sports in Arizona and just yesterday I have been offered a spot on a college team in mesa much excitement to come in the future!! Update!! It's been years since I've posted this comment. I'll keep it short, it didn't work well in college due to depression and our coach was an asshole so but luckily I had liver failure which led me out of continuing there, it was there I had a few friends who were professional players for MILB and MLB who I went out with and loved it so I started training there, that was a year ago, today I'm working with MLB players and just had a workout in Cali with MLB orgs and here in AZ I work with driveline, momentum making good vids and good money!!

Lately I've been hard to reach I've been too long on my own Everybody has a private world Where they can be alone Are you calling me, are you trying to get through Are you reaching out for me, and I'm reaching out for you I'm just so fuckin' depressed I just can't seem to get out this slump If I could just get over this hump But I need something to pull me out this dump I took my bruises, took my lumps Fell down and I got right back up But I need that spark to get psyched back up In order for me to pick that mic back up I don't know how or why or when And I ended up in this position I'm in I starting to feel distant again So I decided just to pick this pen Up and tried to make an attempt to vent, but I just can't admit Or come to grips, with the fact that I may be done with rap, I need a new outlet I know some shits so hard to swallow And I just can't sit back and wallow In my own sorrow, but I know one fact I'll be one tough act to follow One tough act to follow, copy, one tough act to follow Here today, gone tomorrow But you have to walk a thousand miles In my shoes, just to see What it'd be like, to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what I'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's mind Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so I think I'm starting to lose my sense of humor Everything is so tense and gloom I almost feel like I gotta check the temperature in the room Just as soon as I walk in It's like all eyes on me, so I try to avoid any eye contact Cause if I do that then it opens a door to conversation, like I want that I'm not looking for extra attention I just want to be just like you Blend in with the rest of the room Maybe just point me to the closest restroom I don't need no fucking manservant Follow me around, and wiping my ass Laugh at every single joke I crack And half of 'em ain't even funny like Haha Marshall, you're so funny man, you should be a comedian, god damn Unfortunately I am, but I just hide behind the tears of a clown So why don't you all sit down Listen to the tale I'm about to tell Hell, we don't have to trade our shoes And you don't have to walk no thousand miles In my shoes, just to see What it'd be like, to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what I'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's mind Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so so Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you Nobody asked for life to deal us With these bullshit hands we're dealt We gotta take these cards ourselves Flip them, don't expect no help, now I could have either just Sat on my ass and pissed and moaned But take this situation in which I'm placed in And get up and get my own, I was never the type of kid To wait but I know to unpack his bags Never sat on the porch and hoped and prayed For a dad to show up who never did I just wanted to fit in, every single place, every school I went I dreamed of being that cool kid Even if it meant acting stupid, Aunt Edna always told me Keep making that face till it gets stuck like that Meanwhile I'm just standing there Holding my tongue up trying to talk like this Till I stuck my tongue on the frozen stop sign pole at eight years old I learned my lesson and cause I wasn't tryin to impress my friends no more But I already told you my whole life story Not just based on my description Cause where you see it from where you're sitting Is probably a hundred and ten percent different I guess we would have to walk a mile In each other's shoes, at least What size you where? I wear tens Let's see if you can fit your feet In my shoes, just to see What it'd be like, to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what I'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's mind Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked, just stay true to you so Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh They can all get fucked, just stay true to you so Lately I've been hard to reach I've been too long on my own Everybody has a private world Where they can be alone Are you calling me, are you trying to get through Are you reaching out for me, and I'm reaching out for you Yea, to my babies. Stay strong. Daddy will be home soon And to the rest of the world, God gave you the shoes That fit you, so put em on and wear 'em And be yourself man, be proud of who you are Even if it sounds corny, Don't ever let no one tell you, you ain't beautiful

Eminem’s best song by far. I am from Hartford, another city that was once wealthy and important, but was terribly hit by deindustrialization and urban decay. Walking these empty streets, you get a very similar feeling. This metaphor hits hard, but it’s true. Detroit is beautiful in its own way, and should be proud of what it accomplished in its long and troubled existence. And so should all of us. They can all get f, just stay true to you 🤘🏻

You know what I find sooo awesome about Eminem? There were so many different parts of my life that were difficult for me to get through and while they all had different levels of severity and circumstance, through this song, he taught me the root of these particular issues and taught me how to fix it. I almost feel guilty because of how he lived life on the frontlines of verbal, physical, mental, and drug abuse but I’m fortunate enough to be able to learn through his beautifully creative imagination that he most definitely suffered a lot to achieve. Idk just my two cents

I listened to it twice and those 12 minutes saved me from suicide at such a young age being the abused bullied kid at home and school and I'm 24 now. It takes less energy, effort, and resources to stand up to the cast majority instead of fighting them. The best gift my dad left me is the KNOWLEDGE to know the difference between a phonie and solid person. Thank you so much Dad because intelligence is worth way more than any amount of money. [Intro] Lately I've been hard to reach I've been too long on my own Everybody has a private world Where they can be alone Are you calling me? Are you trying to get through? Are you reaching out for me? Then I'm reaching out for you [Verse 1] I'm just so fuckin' depressed I just can't seem to get out this slump If I could just get over this hump But I need somethin' to pull me out this dump I took my bruises, took my lumps Fell down and I got right back up But I need that spark to get psyched back up In order for me to pick the mic back up I don't know how or why or when I ended up in this position I'm in I'm starting to feel distant again So I decided just to pick this pen Up and try to make an attempt to vent But I just can't admit Or come to grips with the fact that I may be done with rap I need a new outlet And I know some shit's so hard to swallow But I just can't sit back and wallow In my own sorrow, but I know one fact: I'll be one tough act to follow One tough act to follow, I'll be one tough act to follow Here today, gone tomorrow But you'd have to walk a thousand miles- [Pre-Chorus] In my shoes, just to see What it's like to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what it'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's minds Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes [Chorus] But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you [Verse 2] I think I'm starting to lose my sense of humor Everything's so tense and gloom I almost feel like I gotta check the temperature Of the room, just as soon as I walk in, it's like all eyes on me So I try to avoid any eye contact ‘Cause if I do that, then it opens a door For conversation like I want that I'm not lookin' for extra attention I just wanna be just like you Blend in with the rest of the room Maybe just point me to the closest restroom I don't need no fuckin' man servant Tryna follow me around and wipe my ass Laugh at every single joke I crack And half of 'em ain't even funny, like, "Ha! Marshall, you're so funny, man You should be a comedian, goddamn!" Unfortunately I am I just hide behind the tears of a clown So why don't you all sit down? Listen to the tale I'm about to tell Hell, we don't gotta trade our shoes And you ain't gotta walk no thousand miles- [Pre-Chorus] In my shoes, just to see What it's like to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what it'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's minds Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes [Chorus] But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you [Verse 3] Nobody asked for life to deal us With these bullshit hands we're dealt We gotta take these cards ourselves And flip 'em, don't expect no help Now, I could've either just sat on my ass and pissed and moaned Or take this situation in which I'm placed in And get up and get my own I was never the type of kid to wait by the door and pack his bags And sat on the porch and hoped and prayed For a dad to show up who never did I just wanted to fit in in every single place, every school I went I dreamed of being that cool kid Even if it meant acting stupid Aunt Edna always told me: "Keep making that face, it'll get stuck like that." Meanwhile, I'm just standin' there Holdin' my tongue, tryin' to talk like this 'Til I stuck my tongue on that frozen stop sign pole at 8 years old I learned my lesson then ‘Cause I wasn't tryin' to impress my friends no mo' But I already told you my whole life story Not just based on my description ‘Cause where you see it from where you're sittin' It's probably 110% different I guess we would have to walk a mile in each other's shoes at least What size you wear? I wear 10's Let's see if you can fit your feet- [Pre-Chorus] In my shoes, just to see What it's like to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes Just to see what it'd be like to Feel your pain, you feel mine Go inside each other's minds Just to see what we find Look at shit through each other's eyes [Chorus] But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful They can all get fucked, just stay true to you [Bridge] Lately I've been hard to reach I've been too long on my own Everybody has a private world Where they can be alone Are you calling me? Are you trying to get through? Are you reaching out for me? Then I'm reaching out for you [Outro] Yeah, to my babies: stay strong Daddy'll be home soon And to the rest of the world: God gave you them shoes to fit you So put 'em on and wear 'em, be yourself, man Be proud of who you are, even if it sounds corny Never let no one tell you you ain't beautiful
