More like just signed to Shady more than aftermath. Originally "Shady Records" was created so D-12 could be signed to a major deal with Aftermath Records. Dre would take no blow back if it didn't work out with D-12 and Eminem was responsible for all the publicity for anyone signed under Shady. Of course D-12 went platinum since then "Shady Records' is where artists get signed if Aftermath is really feeling them, but isn't sure about other variables like controversy or public reception. I say all that to point this not so talked about thing out. Dr. Dre did not want to sign 50 cent at all. Him a Ja Rule were in major beef, he was straight up in the streets for real, and Murder Inc and Irv were cool with The Sorce owners Dave Mays and Benzino. Dre didn't Think anyone in the world was ill enough to be worth that headache. If it were not for Em 50 cent would have been one of those rappers everyone talked about signing but never did. Eminem literally did for 50 cent what Dre did for him and just believed in the guy gave him that opportunity that no one else would.

Jermaine Dupri made a comment in a mag, saying that if you put him, Dre and Timbaland in a room, he'd have a song completed 1st. I think what he meant was that he produces and writes his own songs, while Dre and Timbaland only produced. Dr. Dre took offence to that coz three weeks earlier JD asked Dre to work on a song with him. So... They went into the booth and the rest is history.... :D Also... That Canibus line is actually directed at LL Cool J. See when LL and Canibus we beefing, both LL and Bus wanted Em to ghost write on diss track towards one another. Em declined, making it very clear he didn't want to go against a legend like LL (coz he's one of his favourites) and he didn't wanna help LL either coz he looked up to Bus. So when Bus released Second Round KO, he went so hard that LL thought Em ghost wrote that song and was pissed at Em. Em was thrown aback but he had no problems going at LL if he wanted to go bar for bar with Em, hence the "if you ever mix me up or confuse me, with Canibus..."
