if this had a more Dr. Phil vibe... then it would have been epic lmao ... I have been an M-Fan since 1999... although I also heard his other works when they dropped before that one... But getting his albums shipped into Barbados usually took a month. American top 40 was how I got introduced to music outside of Barbados in the 80's... and 1994 was the first time I started recording music from the radio ^.^ ... that Pause button was KING! lmao ... M's LP was one of the first albums I invested money into for music... I loved all his albums in a way over the years... even the ones not critically acclaimed. Cause they usually had at least 2-3 songs that stood out... But this last album really reminded me of the glory days of M... I totally loved this concept album... I hope all the other aritsts in all genres are taking notes. This is art! He's still my number 1 artist... For consistancy and being authentic.

See a lot of people seem to forget there's no Em or Slim without Marshall. Bro said himself that Slim Shady is a character he created as a way to get out of a difficult situation, it gave him confidence and he got extremely big thanks to this character. putting up that facade takes a toll on your mental, especially when people want Slim shady and not who you actually are, and we almost lost him to OD. How could we expect him to be the same after that, even in his music? That's some life changing experience man, especially since he was a father throughout all of it. he's chilling now, he's doing good in his personal life and it looks like his mind is clear enough that he can take his music back on top now. He separated his character from himself, he clearly showed in his new album that he still has those old school flows and stuff, plus he's obviously very aware of himself personally and musically. It looks like he needed this album way more than his own fans did. Everybody can have their favourite rapper of course, but Em is the goat bro. As a white european dude, I guarantee you Em brought the whole genre here. I'm italian, one of our athletes who just won Gold at the olympics has bleach blond hair and I heard a 60+ year old family member calling him out for having similar hair to that "american blond rapper". He's the reason most of people who "look like me" (to quote em) and are from the same geographics that I'm from got into this genre in the first place, and he did it by being so real and respectful about the culture as well. he almost singlehandedly brought hip hop as it was outside of black america to the whole world, that's some top tier goat shit.

@@nathanielperryii296 He “admitted” it was “terrible” after it dropped and got bad reviews. Regardless if you like or dislike the content on that album, its definitely not terrible. Its definitely a piece of art, like a real serial killer put together an album and painted a sick twisted picture in rap form. If thats not something you vibe with, I get it but just because you don’t like it it doesn’t mean its terrible. Your opinion is not the end all be all dawg.

So fucking true with the part that Eminem doesn’t talk this much that’s why many hate him. Tbh, that’s a real talk I got from therapy and my true friends. How can they understand you if you don’t speak up and communicate. And this vid from Eminem and Slim Shady is a creative and Artistic way of speaking up. The problem with Em fans is that we are Stans so we accept and understand what he’s going through. But, at the end of the day you can’t expect your friends, family, or supporters to always just speak for you. You have to speak up for yourself as well. Damn. I love this reaction.

What I like about the old slim shady yeah his wittiness and crazy outlandish stuff but it was more so the WAY he rapped it. His flow, delivery, and bars were just way better. I feel like current Eminem thinks when people say we want slim shady we just want him to go off the rails. It’s the old delivery and cleverness that made shady so dope

So, I'm really glad Em seems to have addressed a bunch of your criticisms about him. I will say one thing he didn't comment on, or hit himself about, was not responding to a bunch of the 'Diss' tracks people have made that you insisted he should respond to. First it was Nick Cannon, then it was the Game, then it was Benzino. Every time the general fandom was shrugged and said no need to do more than take a pot-shot here or there, but you insisted he needed to respond. Where you were legit saying 'Em lost' if he doesn't respond to a ghost-written song that got (checks notes) less than 200K views on youtube in 5 months. Benzino was crashing out, sobbing on camera in interviews, and you were the ONLY guy saying nah, Em gotta throw down with him, and wouldn't come off of it, even when you were proven wrong about it being ghost-written. And anyone who disagreed with that view, reactor or otherwise, was a Stan, or a coon-tuber, or what have you. I actually agree with you that his flow was more fun and easier to groove on in earlier records, though I do like some of the songs off MTBMB like Godzilla, I Will and Stepdad. It was the other stuff where it just seemed to dip into a weird territory where terrible rap songs that got traction only because they were dissing Em were treated like something he had to respond to or lose all credibility.

The Eminem vs himself era continues and this face-off was really well done! He's very aware of the biggest criticisms against him nowadays and a therapy session with himself is a creative way to showcase that after the recent album.

People forget this cos we’re old now, but there really is a whole generation of people who came up with Recovery Eminem onwards - barely any Slim Shady unless they go back in his catalogue. This is definitely for the mature fans (and ones who need to mature).

The problem is people are not making constructive criticism when it comes to Em they just trash anything he puts out. Em, Jay, Nas, Wayne and almost every other artist that has a career of 20+ years, had those bad album runs and meh verses but Em is white and cause of people putting him at the top for so long the hate is different
@Cassie-Nova-

People are absolutely giving constructive criticism. Yeah the internet is gonna clown on everything so not every one is being constructive but just because a take is harsh doesn’t mean it’s not coming from a place of good faith. Plus, albums should be weighed on their individual merit. If Em literally released an album that was just an audio recording of him taking a dump, we shouldn’t be required to pull punches and beat around the bush because he’s had a long successful career prior to that.

Houdini had EMINEM in it, bc he dressed up as “RAP BOY”, just like EMINEM was dressed in “Without me”….which was on “THE EMINEM SHOW”… there’s so much more to all of this that connects Slim, Marshall, AND EMINEM….i think EMINEM was in the mix on the TDOSS album…im starting to think that Eminem was the one who was buried! Notice in the gravestone it said “it feels so empty without him”… which is an EMINEM SHOW lyric from the track “WITHOUT ME”… and if the TDOSS was inspired from the 3 Superman comics… then “The world without Eminem would be next”…The 3 Superman comics are titled in this order: 1. “The Death of Superman 2. “The world Without Superman. 3. The Return of Superman.

I honestly think you may be missing the point. I get your take, but that's the same person, man. He even says I can say whatever I want and blame Slim Shady. That's Marshall Mathers saying those things and blaming it on Slim and people like you are falling for it. He said those things on the album. Its not 2 people. Lol. He will say those things and then pretend its Slim to fool you into thinking he isn't saying those things. Hence the lead single Houdini. Slim isn't dead. He supposedly killed him on the album, but here he is still alive and well still saying this things. It's genius because he is fooling you. It's like a mirage where he convinces you Slim and Em are 2 different people, but they are not. He knows this and used it to make this album and he knew people would eat it up. He is the one who spit those offensive line in a booth with Dre shaking his head knowing he could just blame Slim and get away with it. At the end Eminem says we are in this together.
