Great job on a really difficult song to cover....especially for non-long-time Em fans, JoJo! You are right this song (and the whole album) is super bar heavy..... Probably the most ever album by album, and definitely the most homophones. I'm sure your pops told you this, but takes A LONG TIME to get "Em ears"... and you are ALWAYS learning as he's always adding new tools to his arsenal..... Unlike when "older" rappers like DMX, Ghostface, roots/BT, Tribe, Busta (Busta's was OFF THE HOOK, always love me some BT & tribe) release a new album in their 40s+, it still sounds very similar to the stye of rap at the time they were at the peak. Em has aged like fine wine, and adjusted to his own unique style that "fits" with the times more than the MMLP1 would today. While there are others that have adjusted their game as rap changed, most folks are still using the same flow, cadence, and types of beats as before (dont get me wrong, i love that era of rap, especiallly 90s). You are a super smart kid, and while I doubt you will do this, IF you DO dive into Em, you're intelligence would allow you to get those Em ears faster than most folks my man. Great start!
