I lost my precious son 7 months ago after a 23 year battle with the devil. A year before he died, he asked me to listen to this song. He said 'Mom, this is me'. I cry every time I hear it. We played this at his funeral. I love you Jacob Howard Smith. My life will never be the same 💔

One day at a time my man, one tear at a time you FORGIVE YOURSELF, worry about other people when you are strong enough to deal with it. For now....this is YOUR DAY bro. Hold on, throw down, and keep takin steps forward. You got this. Mad love homie.

@SoriethRisika
@SoriethRisika Жыл бұрын
@@riddell26poken like a true f❤ckin idiot. It's a form of self-medicating, often for high stress or depression and other mental health conditions. Most often a response to living a miserable life and/or suicidal ideation. The same is true for nicotine and often drugs, prescription or otherwise. Even if the drugs destroy your life, it's often desirable to the misery you otherwise feel, and eventually (or rapidly) forms a dependence on the substance to be able to cope. Sometimes it's a literal chemical addiction, and other times (like alcohol or meth/adderal) it's a temporary fleeting relief that makes you worse in the aftermath, thus causing you to become addicted despite the lack of a chemical that causes addiction. It takes a lot of willpower to try and break the habit, and a lot of support. Not everyone can face it and break the cycle. It's not just some easy "don't do the thing" decision, it's a literal battle with your own mind. I don't expect you to understand what I'm saying here, most people who haven't experienced it can't try to see it through those eyes. Only people with empathy try to understand.

Biggest thing is don't figure it out on your own, get help. Support groups, talk to rehab professionals, etc. Talk to everyone. Get some books on being around someone who has addiction. Don't be an enabler. Let them hit rock bottom. I hope he gets clean and stays sober. Good luck.

Find out what pain he's trying to escape from... Mine was losing a love & bad divorce... Without my father, I wouldn't be 25 years sober... I won't lie, I almost relapsed once about 7 years ago but my sons (teenagers then) reminded me of the battle I told them about... I never lied to my sons & I used my mistakes to teach my sons... I owed up to them & talked to them about them... After a few days of drinking, I stopped & walked away from it again... It's hard, but you have to have a support system... Don't scream at your son, instead talk to him... Show him love & support but don't enable him... Stand firm in your love & pray for him... I'll pray for him... If you ever want to talk, I'll send you my email address... 🫶🙏🙏

Two of my favorite singers and I appreciate the example they give to the recovery community. Loved Jelly Rolls most recent speech on the fentanyl crisis. Working in the addiction recovery field I hear their names as people to look up to and I'm so grateful to have been part of a generation that had an outlet through their music. Now I'm able to give back as an Addiction Recovery Therapist. Keep fighting the good fight Jelly Roll we are all behind your good works. I wish there were more shelters to house all those suffering with addiction and criminal justice system involvement. Instead people are freezing in the cold, rejected by society, and dying from overdoses. Please support your local recovery community and give back through volunteer work or donations. Thank you Jelly Roll and Eminem for helping people through your music.

I work in an ER. Addiction recovery services are woefully underfunded and oversubscribed. If proper investment was made, your difficult work would be so much easier on you (I know from experience that there is nothing worse than saying "sorry, I can't help" to people crying out for support), I wouldn't see so many people that I either can't help (they come to us because there's nowhere else to go) or watch them pass too soon from ODs, and the criminal justice system would no longer be under so much pressure. All of us in the system know what needs to be done. We just need to be listened to, and the higher-ups need to place community and country over profit. I take my hat off to you for the work you do. Thank you for giving people a chance, a voice, a taste of hope. Wishing you all the best 👍

My daughter is fighting demons of addiction going on 11 years now. She is a beautiful 27 year old. I’ve tried every single thing there is to do to save her, but realize now I cant. Only she and God will save her. I feel helpless as a mom who protects her kids with every fiber of my being but knowing this is one battle I can not fight for her. I will not lose faith but I cant help to be scared. Im so sad this amazing woman feels she is a lost cause and I pray she keeps fighting. To everyone fighting addiction and depression…. You are loved and you are worth more than you feel. Please keep fighting!

I just heard this song the other day and I love it! I even love Eminem rapping,it adds that real touch to it.i can relate my life was hard and I never had hopes and dreams.my father sold me with out my mom's say so and destroyed her life as well as my family,but after 50 years of looking my family found me and I'm truly grateful they never gave up and shared the truth about what happen to me.I am finding a peace I never knew and feel truly loved by them all and will share the rest of my life loving them as mom would of wanted .But this song means alot to me and goes along with sobriety.i don't need those things to fill my void.i have found the heart of home and family where I have always belonged.God gave you a gift jelly roll and you have shared it with us all .you are not alone.may you get everything you want out of this world,you deserve it and thank you for your comforting words and inspiration you gave to me.keep it coming . your the man.the little red head from Houston ,Texas

I am 65 years young. I have needed something to make me feel normal from as young as I can remember. I have fought everything through my addiction from alcohol to opiates. I try to stay sober for the most part I do. When you pass this shit down to one of your children like the flu, hopefully, it will start making sense! No one even acknowledged that alcoholism and addiction were real until 15 years ago. Most people think we can turn it on and off like a light switch. Jelly Roll has helped people realize this is no different than having a disease like cancer. Jelly Roll I love you, man. You give me the inspiration and motivation to stay sober and enjoy life. I listen to you every morning to remind me of who I am and one day at a time I love life.
