Funny thing about eminem is he actually stopped touring early on because he didnt want to miss his kids growing up. Thats why you see many fans hoping he finally starts touring again lol. This whole song is based on what if he didnt stop the drugs after his overdose and would he still be here and what would he miss. In the grand scheme of things there was only 5 or so years of him messing up his families life and he kicked himself in the arse and got help and has been sober for 17 years now. He did everything he said he missed in this song for example.

The whole song is like a big "what if", like "what if" he actually chose drugs over his life and died from OD in 2007. We can just be glad that he didn't and appreciate the fact that he overcame his addiction and is still with us today. Also you're doing a great job on your Eminem reactions! Loved everyone so far. I'm not saying you're wrong, Blu, but another perspective is his present self looking through the glass at his past self. The glass represents the time barrier preventing his present self from reaching his past self and telling him all of the events he'll miss if he doesn't wake up and snap out of it.

That is a good perspective for sure, however in this case all our perspectives are irrelevant, because the song is just a «what if», this is the reason many think it sounds like final last words before death. Eminem was not a bad father compared to what most people consider a bad father. He was absent for years, but not that long for someone in his position, towards the end when he was the worst for his family was not drug addiction as in pary and get f***ed up, but rather the struggle of having his lifelong best friend shot and killed. He overdosed on perscription pills, and basically died. This song is like a altarnate reality where Eminem died in 2007. I know this after listening to this album many times a day ever since release. A few examples that confirms this: «sorry I never got to hug my little nephews» Irl he has hugged his nephews. «Didn’t get to walk you down the aisle» Irl he did walk her down the aisle, danced with her and everything 😊 This song is relatable for anyone who have had a horrific experience at some point in life, especially when one gets much older and begin to really look back at life, as many know that all the beautiful experiences and moments they have had with friends and family was very close to never have become reality.

I know how the side effects of pills can effect people, when i first was prescribed my medications there was a point where the side effects were making me starve myself among other things and basically was making me feel like I was dying. I was barely getting out of bed, drooling all over myself, and in my mind i was thinking I need more medication. So I may or may not have got addicted from the side effects alone for a while, drugs are no joke. I was wondering what things would have been like if the effects didn't wear off.
