Right. He was the child, regardless of how old he is that’s his mom. His mom held all the responsibility in taking care of her child or making things right later on. I understand she has her problems and I truly feel bad for her, but that doesn’t excuse her parenting and the hell her kids went through. He had every right to let out how he felt. Plus he was young when he made these songs about her/mentioning her in a negative way. Maybe that’s my mommy issues talking, but I still feel bad for her and h that *all* her fuck ups are forever recorded and everyone knows..

Those who think this is a diss don’t have mommy issues. This rage, and sadness, that comes from your mother not living you the way she should. It’s an acute type of pain that comes out…However it does. This is what it sounds like for Eminem. When your mom was…a person you loved but wanted to be nothing like, and you realize, that you’re just like her? There’s nothing more debasing than that. And the fact you never will escape her, because she’s indebted into everything you do and every problem you have…

being put in a similar situation really gives you sympathy though. i’m going through a very similar thing right now. my father’s been an alcoholic and he’s occasionally done drugs while i was growing up, and he still does sometimes, and recently i’ve started doing drugs myself (although i’m not physically addicted like he was/is). but i really do understand the psychological temptation drugs can have on a person that i never understood growing up and i dont think i would’ve ever understood it if i wasn’t put in the same situation myself.

It's amazing how much he sacrificed to become who he is. He spilled a LOT of his family's dirt, spoke about very vulnerable moments in his life, and publicized and brought to light some serious consequences of bad parenting...all his anger that he thankfully wrote about instead of acted upon. I know that despite the fact that I wasnt ALLOWED to listen to his music, I did, and that music carried me through a lot of dysfunction and abuse because I KNEW that I wasnt the only one who had all this built up rage about how he was treated. And then came the drug addiction, which is of course kind of the natural progression of things when children have higher instances of trauma. It really shows me how I believe addiction starts and how violence, verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse can damage a young person's psyche and cause long term effects. He chose pen and paper. People like Edmund kuemper chose assaulting and murdering. Countless others with talents that were never showcased have died with a needle in their arm. And many more continue the cycle of abuse, because hurt people hurt people.

His mom wasn't a mother..I'm just glad he didn't let those things destroy his life, no excuses no bullshit, He rose up from that life like a God. I will forever love & respect Marshall Mathers

i feel so bad for Eminem, his story is heartbreaking, the lyrics are an honest painful story of his life,as a child he was emotionally and physically abuse/hurt/damage whatever,i wish him peace and love💕,growing up for Eminem must be a real struggle,he'd have to deal with lots of his own demons and scars😖😭

i can relate to Eminem so much. my mother was extremely abusive, the sad part is though, she didn't try to make it right or even stand with me once as i grew up. my two sisters were the same as their mother, but could do no wrong by her. my only escape was my father with which i debated on where we should go after they separated, and every conversation ended with a tear and mucus overflow. nobody but us against the world full of hostile indigenous and backstabbers my second mom was my first tower to stand by as the lonely voices in my head grew ever louder but there was a flaw in this construction of awe one slip up in the core back in arkansas and the whole thing would fall and now as i look back onto what i been sayin i guess i relate to eminem more than i thought as i keep typing out these annoying, and mind destroying, reappearing thoughts than just hittin up the radio station cuz i guess what any of you say here unanimously has no effect on me at least no thoroughly
