I’m glad you liked the song! It’s always been one of my favorite underrated Eminem songs. I always interpreted the demonic voice as drugs itself (or Eminem on drugs) encouraging him to go back on the pills. There’s lines like “isn’t that us on that poster?” where the album cover is Eminem with drugs and the overall message. He’s calling to Shady, because the argument is that drugs fuel Shady

First time I heard this my first thought was his addiction. The voice is most definitely addiction talking to him. Shady gives into his addiction which is why his addiction wants Shady back. Every time I hear this masterpiece it gives me chills. No one could describe the control addiction has over your life better than Em has done. The end where Em and his addiction are rapping at the same time perfectly shows how we are responsible for our own negative thoughts and actions.

References to selling his soul, having a contentious conversation with an entity outside of himself that identifies itself as a spirit, subtle references to 666, regret about the cost of achieving his dream of fame and fortune. It's not about addiction. Although I do appreciate the indication that Dre was inline with the spirit.

10:11 probably one of the dopest facts about this song is that not only he does the 666 with the 123, 123, 123, but also he says it at the minute 1:23 of the song *bruh* I love this song, probably my favorite of relapse with Stay Wide Awake, I love the whole concept of Eminem Vs. One of my favorite aspects of this track is that it goes all the way back to the The Slim Shady EP with references. The demonic voice in this one is similar to the one used to represent Shady in the EP Intro. The EP Intro also has him shattering a mirror while talking to a demonic voice through it. In this one the demonic voice begins by saying "Shady" while in the EP Intro the demonic voice begins by saying "Eminem." Hell, the underlying concept between this song and the EP Intro is very similar overall.
