It's not one of the underrated , it is the absolute most underrated , especially after you understand what the music video meant , what was going in with all those many Typewriting Eminems with no meaningful sentences typed. It becomes perfectly clear that it is the most underrated when one understands what all was going on here.

Elias Mejia uhm, em does say quite a bit on his newest album, listen to songs like darkness, leaving heaven and even never love again. These are songs that have a very deep message and is more than just music. This song, “walk on water” is a work of art with just pure words and no crazy beat to back it up. What I’m saying is that he still makes music with meaning and isn’t “just making music”
@eliasmejia78624 жыл бұрын
Jim Bob vlogz I never said he doesn’t make music with meaning I’m only stating what he talked about in the intro song of the new album people will still say he isn’t saying anything when he did make a deep album like revival I’ve heard the album your not teaching me anything new that I already know I’m an em fan I am never bringing him down, he is making some of the best music right now em always has a message in a song and always makes great content
@jimbobvlogz59774 жыл бұрын

I just found out about Revival last week, at first I didn't like this song, because I want getting it. I was trying to figure it out, after a week of listening, I got it and now I am pissed that people didnt just fucking take the time to listen to what he had to say. He put his feelings and heart into all his music, but especially this song and people trashed it. I really love all of revival, but the critics had they negative shit to say and their audiences didnt give it a chance. Eminem gave them what they wanted which was a white artist speaking up about the injustices that black people face and they shut him out. Eminem is a legend to me and I enjoy watching him grow as an artist and a person. #fuckthecritics

Right, I agree, personally I feel like a lot of Em’s fans, tend to choose one side of Marshall Mathers to stand beside, & they shouldn’t be able to call themselves fans unless they support and appreciate all sides of Em! I mean he is truly a man who gives all of himself and then some, literally, to maintain & stand up for just so many of the principals & ideals that so many of us need for so many different reasons! Me personally, I could truly go on for hours about all the things that I hold near and dear from yes, a rapper! He’s a legend, that’s for sure! But what I wish for more people to realize is that he is also a voice for the voiceless, he’s inspiration for the tired, and most of all he is comfort for the hurt! He’s not just that “f@&$ it switch” which is also important at times, but he’s also my reminder to never give up & to always stand up for what you believe in! Thanks to Marshall, I have the inspiration it takes to want to find my own truths, thanks to Eminem, I know that it’s okay for my truths to be complex maybe even different or not the “common” denominator, & thanks to Shady, I’m not afraid of standing up to the monsters that’ll try to get in my way or stop my journey! ~Real Talk~

Look what happened to Chester and Linkin Park, for almost a decade everyone kept saying that they don't make the same music anymore and then Chester died. That's when they went back to his new album and realised how much he was struggling and he was asking his fans to understand and we didn't. The same is happening with Eminem.

In this masterpiece Eminem is literally talking about those exact haters who nit pick and critique EVERYTHING that he creates. It’s the main reason why they STILL hated this song, because he is talking about them. This man is a poet…he became a rapper because he desperately wanted to be loved and accepted by who he believes are important and special due to the fact that rap/MCs SAVED HIM. His mom and his dad failed at giving him that love and attention, so that is exactly how he became one of the most special MCs that ever lived. Because of his parents depriving him of what EVERY kid so desperately needs…it led him to CRAVE what he didn’t get. He longed for that love and respect SO MUCH… and that’s where all of the energy, dedication, appreciation, motivation, and inspiration came from. He put in 3 times the work over any other rapper around him, not only because the fact of being white in a massively black majority art form was extremely difficult/intimidating, but also because he was already so used to a type of rejection that filled him full of determination. He knew that if his OWN parents were impossible to win their love and admiration from…winning that love, respect, and admiration from people he did not know, ON TOP of them having a different skin color…was going to be 3 times harder of a win. And even though he has some of these salty weirdo haters, it means nothing because they MEAN NOTHING important to the culture and what the culture should stand for. The culture stands for unity, freedom of speech, acceptance, respect, support, and LOVE for EVERYONE that puts in those same things I mentioned the culture standing for…no matter the color. Eminem did it. He earned the respect, love, and admiration from all of the important LEGENDARY MCs that helped build the foundation of rap. From Rakim to KRS1, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Treach, Masta Ace, Busta, Big Pun, and SOO many more. They represent what the culture stands for! Fuck the unimportant haters 🖕 you’re a true GOAT in the eyes of all the LEGENDARY OG GOATS who played the most important roles in pioneering this art form and culture ✊

I'm glad people are coming back to revisit his music from Revival. That album was NOT trash. He poured his heart & soul into it & reached out to his fans for OUR support for once to get HIM through a difficult time (listen to Believe; he couldn't be any clearer) & so much of his fan base turned their backs on him. That had to hurt. True: it's not an album you can bump to all the way through but his lyricism is off the fucking chart, even when you thought he couldn't possibly spit more complex bars. And the raw emotion in it gives you goosebumps. I'm hoping more people will go back & really LISTEN. It was & is a brilliant album; yet again another Em album that got me through a rough patch. That's why it's so shitty his fans weren't willing to help him through his. ('Believe': go listen).

It takes a lot of courage to make a song this introspective. This song speaks to the depth of human emotion and motivates and inspires people to get through the difficult times. Thanks for making songs like this that help me and others keep our heads up when the going gets tough. It helps us to endure through the struggle.
@pedroacosta50596 ай бұрын
I agree it touches the deeper water we walk over emotionally as a collective but it’s refreshing to see such an iconic (human being) remind us that he is a human being just the same as we all are. I can’t imagine the pressure and stress of fame and recognition E faces, but we for the most part put on certain masks/personas to our everyday lives. So it’s nice to see someone as Em be vulnerable and honest because people love to idolize/place celebrities on a pedestal, but in the end we are all just the same

I actually hate seeing the dislike for this album. So, when Marshall goes to songs like "The Real Slim Shady", or "Just Lose It" he needs to be more mature, but when he gets mature you critique him for it? He has hundreds of songs made purely to appeal to people, and all of a sudden, you turn your back on him for not having what you like at one point? Didn't like Relapse? He made Recovery for you. But then you want to see him being hardcore and murdering people on the mic? I thought you wanted maturity? Why do you change so much? Accept it, this album was genius. Whether you dislike it or not, why call it trash when he's clearly at his peak? When has he had better lyricism? He can flow on almost every beat now, too. He's established himself as a GOAT, so how about you respect him? Critics never seem to understand. Your ears aren't the only ones that matter.

I used to put my son to sleep driving around in the car for hours to Eminem's music. He literally grew up on it. My daughter is 14 now and just discovering Eminem for herself. I cannot begin to tell you the hundreds of hours I have enjoyed listening to all his old albums as she finds they resonate within her as well. If you go back and listen to the crap he was competing with in the early stages of his career, it is mindblowing. He has always been so ahead of his time... to the point that 20+ years later his words are still powerful and provocative to an entirely new generation. He isnt just an artist... he is someone that redefined the entire genre and made it his own. He is a master of his craft. I hate that there will be a day that he no longer creates... but honestly, ...the man left his mark. You know? He taught us it was good to challenge society, to challenge authority, to troll and mock that which is deserving of change. He was there for us when we were down on ourselves and let us into his mind and now his heart. I genuinely appreciate him and feel that he touched my life... that he was a inspiration and an influence to my present day character... I wouldnt be who I am without the thousands of hours spent pouring out my own rage in time to his. Love the man. So much respect.

Hey! I’m sorry Eminem! The moment you put out an album sharing everything you are struggling with people bash you and call you wack, weak, trash. But the moment you put out something with anger and fluctuations people rejoice. We love to watch people struggle emotionally, spiritually, physically but hate when people are trying to take the high road or take a better path. So forgive us Eminem because true fans will love and embrace you when it’s needed most but we didn’t do that. SO IM SORRY! We love hate and drama! I’m praying for you Eminem!

I honestly didn’t bother to check out this album when it dropped. My life has just been crazy busy and it passed me by. So I learned more about this album with the release of Kamikaze and all that... I was expecting utter trash, honestly, due to all the talk. But I’m listening to this now and it just makes me sad for Em. This isn’t bad at all. It’s just different and it comes off as extremely personal... no wonder he was so hurt by the reception. He wasn’t out to prove he was the greatest with this... he already won that battle. This was a different experiment, he sounds like he was letting himself grow and open up. So he wasn’t coming “hard,” but that’s fine because it wasn’t the point. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy we got Kamikaze out of this, but it’s still a shame. People are vicious just for the sake of it. I hope more people, like me, are giving this album a first or second shot now... He deserved better.

No other song has captured the frustration that comes from creating and trying to believe your own legacy when you are appreciated more when you're giving your first steps as a composer than when you have refined and worked on your craft for years.
