Em really focused on beat selection this time, which I feel like may be the ONLY weakness he has ever really had. He's so serious about his legacy now that he is putting 110% into everything, and I think he realizes that sometimes his rap ability alone, as damn near perfect as it is, isn't enough to carry every song completely. It carries most of his tracks but not every single one. I love what he has been doing in the past couple years and this period, imo, might actually be the best he has ever been...which is crazy to think about. I'm not saying they are his best albums ever, they are up there, but he is really going hard toward the end of his career and I fucking love it. And of course my boy Royce came through hard, it so hard to decide which dude is my favorite rapper, they both are my 2 personal favorites. I can't wait for The Allegory to release, but at least I got this and another favorite of mine/all-time great, Weezy F. Baby giving us the Funeral to attend until then. I been getting spoiled by 3 of my top 5 favorite rappers dropping shit right to start 2020.

This is one of Royce's most dope features. I said it on another reaction, but his approach to social issues just shows how the man has turned trials and tribulations into wisdom. He's a legend, one of the best to ever do it. It's hard to shine with Em on a track, but honestly, the power in his words is a constant reminder that hip-hop is alive and well.

Real talk, I think this is Em's best album. Not second or third best, but his best period. It's so complete. There are no bad songs on it, nothing you'd skip if it was in the CD player.
