wHEN i WAS 14, 15 years old I was around Paul Gilbert, Bruce Bouillett, Michael Angelo, Chris Impeliterri and Shawns demo that he sent Mike Varney was floating around Los Angeles. Everyone was blown away by Shawn. Even if someone like Roy Marchbank can pull off Shawns licks it still isn't the same. Light years ahead. Shawn was playing like that in Black Oak Arkansas. Then came Eddy and Randy a few years later. First over the top shredder.

The way his TONE came together too, mannn, it was so WHOLESOME. His technique forced you to rethink alot if you ever studied it, there were a lot of five note fragments instead of triplets. Richie Kotzen was a trip to retrain yourself to play, also. All very painful, and nice lol

Is a basis around Memphis back when Sean was playing he was a young kid, when he was around 13 years old I showed him how to play the guitar part on reeling in the years. He picked it up very quickly, but he would also practice hours and hours every day, he live with his grandparents as far as I remember, I sold a PA system to his van, with Gary Liston and vocals and Daryl denson on drums, next thing I knew Sean was playing with Black oak Arkansas, and I make sound at a club in Memphis where the group called the crime was opening, and Black oak was a main attraction. It was a long time ago, I was a teenager still living with my parents. Too bad he passed away so young. I'm told his mother went to California and did bee movies out in Hollywood. I never saw her when I was out in LA
