Dont forget to mention that Turkish Airlines and Qatar/Emirates dont have the same system at all. You also reviewd the latest cabine type on each Emirates and Qatar Airways while comparing the old Economy long haul of Turkish Airlines (wich is more common thats why i partly understand that).

I’ve also been served snacks every time I’ve flown with Turkish, even domestically, and I’ve always found the cabin crew to be pleasant and friendly. I also feel that the vast content library on their in flight entertainment bears mentioning, though I will concede that the touch screens pretty terrible. Certainly Turkish does not go to the same lengths Emirates and Qatar when it comes to the cabin and feeling of sophistication, but I think that this portrayal of the airline is really selling them short and inaccurate in the broader picture.

One of the big issues not mentioned is the 3x3x3 seating in Turkish vs 3x4x3 on the other two airlines. This is a massive difference if you have people sitting next to you. This extra column of seats is how they managed to get rid of the 747 and for most airlines the A380, ie by squeezing in an extra 60 or so passengers into economy. Night flights on these skinny seats is pure torture and should in fact not be legal for health reasons. Ive done Turkish overnight to Singapore from Istanbul which was not nice due to the poor food and entertainment but prefer that to a seat skinnier than Ryanair 737s. 787s are the same, designed to be 8 across but squished in 9. Also with Qatar airlines, twice they have switched aircraft on my routes, An A320 taking over from an A330.

I have taken many Turkish Airlines flights, especially LAX-Istanbul at least once every two months. I have also taken Dubai-LAX on Emirates. Emirates is definitely more consistent in quality. Turkish airlines planes often old, but sometimes new. Service is descent but not great. Examples: during main meal service there is never a follow up if a passenger wants a second piece of bread or drink and while picking up dinner trays coffee pots are visible on carts but rarely offered. It’s left up to the passenger to ask and I find that intimidating. There should be a clear coffee and after dinner drink service. Another example: during breakfast service you get one quick chance to ask for a drink and if you ask for orange juice you won’t get your coffee. Other airlines would have two people walking around with coffee and tea pots keeping suger and cream packs in their aprons and offering refills.

This sadly ended when they started to charge for seat selection in economy, @ £25 per flight this added £100 to a booking of approx £500 a whopping 20% rise overnight 😢 I switched to Qatar and I'm delighted with their product although I would agree that the service is not as relaxed as Emirates. Qatar have also started to charge for seat selection in economy (free in economy "comfort " bookings) but I have not had to pay so far! In the cabin of the A350 I've always found the lighting to be relaxing and the leg room perfectly adequate. What I like about Emirates is there is a higher chance you get to ride the A380 which somehow makes your seat more spacious (even if in reality its the same as a 777). The TV screen and the windows of an A380 is bigger giving that roomy and airy feel you don't get on a 777 or a 350.

Strange.. On Long haul for Turkish I always have menu card and snacks in economy. Sure they don't serve like the meals but its always there in the galley. They have biscuits or peannuts.. And they give menu card because they have 2 services on long haul so as to make your choice. Well its always a pleasure to fly with them. I think you got a different flight because in mine everyone had their own blanket. Sure no pillow because of covid. Maybe next time you can try their A350 or B789 airplanes...

I took a flight with Turkish airlines (from new york) a few months ago and they didn’t give us any menus.
@TheBudgetTraveller78621 күн бұрын
@@DS-jl8wfSame, they only give them out on what they consider premium long haul markets.

I’m going to say Emirates, just flew economy A380 to Milan 4 weeks ago, will be doing Turkish this coming week 777-300ER

Personal reflection on Qatar June 2022 : I liked the B-787 more than the resumed A-380. Because of better seating. 3-3-3 is mostly better than 3-4-3.

I travel in all of them and I didn't feel Turkish airline less than other even their food taste is best. My family is travel in Jan and this video really help me to know about all these airlines. Do have share any coupons?

I think perhaps you should consider weighting the more important issues. Like legroom compared to hygiene kits. They really ought to be worth different amounts. While it may not have changed Turkish’s ranking it would be interesting between the other two airlines.
@mrh77583 жыл бұрын
Legroom metric should give more points in my view - main thing I care about although I’m more prone to fly business on long haul these days anyway. Can bring own food on and my IPad tends to get as much use as the IFE

Agree with the summary and ranking however the complicated and extremely long walks at DXB (esp. if you have kids) and poor timing of their meal service makes me prefer QR instead of EK even if the prices were the same. Also, I think EK’s premium economy will be a game changer!

I definently agree with the EK Premium Economy Part!

Turkish is great for between Europe and Japan! Great selection of movies, decent food, optimal flight schedule etc. Plus one for onigiri snack you can pick up anytime from the galley🍙 The only thing is that Istanbul airport is too huge and expensive. If you have a lounge pass I guess it’s not an issue but yeah.

Amazing reviews Dan! So sad my favorite airline Qatar is not the winner but this was very detailed and honest. We want more videos and how much you pay for flights and good deals on using our miles to fly premium cabins.

Hey, you should Check turkish airlines newest plane, it contains pillow and a blanket

My favorite airline is Emirates 🇦🇪, I flew with them for the first time last year in July, roundtrip from Washington DC to Dubai and back. And I was very comfortable on both airplanes ✈️. I would definitely fly with them again to Dubai.

You forgot to compare ticket prices though... I just booked a flight with Turkish, that would have cost more than triple if I had booked with Qatar and probably more than quadruple if I had booked with Emirates...

I really really love emirates the economy is amazing and has delicious food but I once went on the emirates b777 300 er old model and I was fine with it but wished that the screen would be bigger although I would definitely go on emirates when travelling

You must have got a bad Turkish flight because all the Turkish flights I’ve taken have had snacks.

Legroom on Japanese airlines is better. For instance, on a 787 economy class the seats are usually in a 3-3-3 config. This is to squeeze more people and make money. Japanese airlines keep the recomended 2-3-2 layout, which is more spacious

I got a menu on my Turkish 787 flight from IST-TPE, maybe DXB-IST was just too short for a menu, but agree that the portions were a bit small. The most surprising part of flying the relatively new Turkish 787 was that I couldn't find any power except for usb in economy.
@2point71828182845902 жыл бұрын
LOL @ DXB to be avoided. I think it's the best airport I have been to in the last 20 years. But hey, I am used to airports like Munich where they force everyone to go through the duty free shop upon going to the gate and NAIA which doesn't even have any useful connection between terminals.

Not at all surprised by the ranking. Whenever i have to fly Turkish or other airlines that can be a hit or miss, i always prep and have all kinds of things in my personal item that'll make the flight much more bearable. So if I'm really trying to save money on a flight and going with the cheapest ticket, i don't even care if they don't have snacks - I'll bring my own snacks and some dry food, and that way i know I'm bringing ones i like!
