My parents bought a sailboat in '87. And the boat needed a name. During this time Kiwi Magic was slicing through the Challenger series in Australia. Most of our friends are over 6ft tall, with my parents and I being the short ones of the group. With the help of our friends, my parents named the boat Pee Wee Magic. In the years after my parents bought the boat, they did the name proud by winning many races in our local area. Now the boat's retired from racing, but still an unbelievable sailor. Just wanted to share the story with you. Go Team New Zealand!!!

I was 12 in 1995, remember my dad waking me up in the early hours (living in Perth at the time) to watch Black Magic win the cup, fond memories of that. The ETNZ boys have done it again, congratulations, and I couldn't be more proud!!

I worked for a t-shirt printing company that designed a t-shirt that had dennis connors face holding the Americas cup saying. " What in the hull all the fuss".. they sold thousands of them. Kz7 , dennis connor jimmy and others. That's what makes it great Rivalry. Upda da kiwis.

I wonder if anyone has looked into following nature: using vents and Venturi effects via the foils. Using a ram air vent on the side/top of the hull ramming air into ever smaller diameter pipes until it can be sent through the foils via 3D printed channels within the foils. Then coming out just aft of the leading edge of the foil via Venturi this could then be spilt out along the edge and over the surface of the the foils aft, utilising millions of microscopic bubbles that would cover the surface of the foil. Very similar to what Penguins use to reduce drag in the water.
