Emisar D4SV2 review - Midsize 26650 pocket rocket with balanced beam and excellent performance!

Hello Guys, Flashlight Enthusiast here. Today I take a look at Emisar D4SV2 in neutral white xp-l hi 4000K. Quite powerful pocket friendly flashlight with over 4000lm. Enjoy!

I bought the same D4SV2 in that colour also with the stainless bezel but i chose the XP-l Hi 6500K. Amazing flashlight. I also have owned the D1S for several years and still as good as new!

This is an amazing light.. I have 3 of them... W2 Osram cool white.. sst20 deep red and w2 blue.. My favorite light.

All of your version sound pretty cool man! W2 must throw pretty well under this optic. Do you have some application for red and blue light, or you bought it just for fun/out of curiosity?

How's the run time on turbo and high with the W2 emitter? I'm guessing around 15 seconds on turbo before massive step-down, correct? Am trying to decide between this and the Lumintop X9L.

Great review, thanks. I received two of the smaller DV4V2’s yesterday, one of them in cyan. Really happy but I’ve actually emailed Hank as after only a few hours carrying the Cyan one in my pocket the anodising is already wearing off in a few places, mainly around the head. Bit disappointing as I have a Zebralight SC600 which I’ve had for 3 years and the anodising is still in quite good condition. Though it was more expensive than the Emisar.

Thank you, appreciate that! I guess you are considering D4SV2, in this case I would go with xp-l hi version. If you want max output and don't care about how warm the beam is, than 6500K (Cool White) is a way to go. Alternatively neutral white 5000K is much more pleasant to an eye and only marginally dimmer. (unnoticeably).

It is an excellent choice. If you haven't ordered yet, ask Hank to swap the driver for 9A CC+FET. The performance improvement over the old FET+3 is vast

Nice review, thanks for putting it up. Can you please comment on any tint-shift experienced with the SST20 High CRI 4000 emitters as you increase brightness? I've read elsewhere they trend to greenish at lower outputs- have you seen this and if so did you find it obtrusive?

Depends on the optics and LED bin really. Sometimes it is quite disturbing, on other samples it is unnoticeable. If you can spot some green than definitely on lower modes, not higher ;)

This light easy to edc? Been looking into the kr4 light but I am going with this because it’s a little bigger and I already have a fwaa for edc. But I was just wondering if it was pocketable? I really like those aux lights as well.

A bit bulky for jeans pocket, due to diameter. You should find comparison pictures on the internet between FW3A (which is very compact) and D4SV2

No charging port here, you need an unprotected flat top 26650 battery and a charger separately

Should look similar in terms of relative output. W2 should give around 6000 lm, and sustain a bit more than XP-L Hi

I guess you are asking between D4V2 and KR4 - the latter has a bit better thermal capabilities of sustaining higher output. You can bow order D4V2 with KR4 driver, so no difference here. It all comes down to whether you like side or tail button.

D4SV2 has much larger body and optics - build for throw and obviously can sustain output much longer due to bigger mass. Great choice for pocket thrower which also gives good side illumination. It is now available in tint ramping version, where you can toggle between 2 different sets of emitters, for instance cool white Osram for throw and neutral white , high CRI Nichia for up close light

Definitely E12R for floody performance and sustainable output. For compact middle range I choose D4SV2

I does not come with the adapter, as long as you have one and the cell is not too long it can be used. Mind you, springs are quite short, so be careful, because 21700 cells are longer than 26650 (even unprotected ones)
