3:45 A book I read on sexuality [Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality] mentioned such a belief: but the implications were the opposite. After a woman got "a little pregnant", the men in the community would "donate" their material as well. This reinforced the notion that raising children was a shared community responsibility.

My pet rock of 14 years died of old age a few hours ago, and my family is making fun of me. Her name was Rookie, and she was a small crested rock. I really loved her a lot, for such a small thing she had so much personality. She would always walk onto my hand if I held it out for her and would jump to the cage door if I was home from work. For the last week, she had been sluggish and not climbing at all. She stopped visiting me when I came home and stayed on the cage floor. I knew deep down it was her age, but I wanted to just believe she was just maybe a little out of it, so I tried to keep her healthy and hydrated. Just today, I came home and found her motionless, i went to touch her gently and saw she was still breathing and stiff. But she was clearly weak, and the breathing was shallow. I didn't want to bother her, I know rocks get stressed out by human touch when they are uncomfortable, so I left her. An hour later, she was dead, I knew because when I went to touch her, she was limp. She had never been so limp before. I told my sister and showed her the body as I was taking it to the backyard for a burial. She seemed shocked but oddly asked to take a pic. I told her no as it was weird. I buried her, grieved for a few hours, and decided I would stay home from work tomorrow. My parents came home, and I told them they were respectful. Well, my mom at least was sympathetic. My dad didn't do much but listen. I just came back upstairs, and I heard them talking. My dad and sister dont exactly have quiet voices. They said that I was overreacting, how maybe if it was the dog, I should be upset and crying. And how my managers would think I would be stupid if I called in for the death of a rock. I thought they would be respectful, but I guess they really didn't care for her or how much she meant to me. It makes me furious, but I dont have the energy to confront them. She may have been small and not the brightest, but I really did love Rookie, I've had her since I was in elementary school. I just wish they were more understanding about this.

8:09 - Doctors are just like people in any other profession. You have a few really good ones, a few really bad ones and the rest are just mediocre. What do you call a medical student who graduates at the bottom of his class? “Doctor”. I went to the hospital after almost losing consciousness when there suddenly seemed to be no oxygen in the room. They sent me home with a rescue inhaler and a diagnosis of emphysema from smoking. I was back four days later, this time properly diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolisms. They had sent me home to die. They did it again fifteen years later, this time with pneumonia.

I once bought a few shirts at the mall and they forgot to take one of the tags off. It was 45 minute drive so I called them to ask if they knew how, but the cashier wasn't sure of how to remove it, so she suggested google. Went on google, and all I kept getting was 'pay for it'. Regarding the doctor thing, Think about it this way: When you go to an ER, you sign a form saying that a random stranger can do literally anything they want with your body under the guise of trying to figure out what is wrong with you. Meaning if they don't like you for any reason, they pretty much can screw with you and claim it was "totally medically necessary." For example, a few weeks ago I had an ER try and push psych meds on me, claiming it was "for my nausea." I was having a heart attack at 29. They put panic attack in my medical report. Another hospital diagnosed me properly and probably saved my life. So no, doctors do not automatically get my trust. That has to be earned.

the fact a doctor could literally just decide "I don't like your attitude" and misdiagnose you with like the flu when you literally have stage 4 cancer is ridiculous, there's nothing that can be done about it either since there's no evidence to conclude it was intentional or malicious, and of course if you know they're wrong you can go to another doctor, usually you should anyways for a second opinion, but some people die from taking the advice of a trained medical professional.

6:54 as a picky spanish speaker, i have the need to correct this myth. There is one case where you can't know how a word is pronounced just by looking at how it's written and i'm going to explain it: In spanish, if there's a diphthong with an accent mark on an I or U, it means that both vowels are in different syllables, but if there's a diphthong with an I or U without an accent mark, then both letters are part of the same syllable, for example: "país" is pa-is, but "pais" is pais. But when there's a diphthong and the accent mark is on A, E or O, then it means that both letters are part of the same syllable but that syllable is the stressed one, for example: acción is not ac-ci-on, it's ac-cion. But what if you have a word with a diphthong where both letters are in separate syllables but the stressed syllable has an A, E or O? Whether you put an accent mark or not, it won't be clear if it's one syllable or two. This means that in words like "Tarea" or "Guion", "Rio" or in entire conjugations like the present tense of verbs ending in "ear", like in "deseo" "pasean" "creas", or the 1st person past tense of verbs ending in "iar", like "envie" "desviamos", you actually can't know how they're pronounced based on how they're written. In 99.99% percent of cases, there's no problem because it's easy to know when a word is a conjugation of a verb and the nouns are so few that you can just memorize them, not to mentions it's very common for spanish speakers to incorrectly write them with an accent mark (for example, all my life, i've written "guión" like this), but there are cases where it can cause confusion, like the next phrase: "A la noche, soñe que era pajaro, y a la mañana, pie" "At night, i dreamed i was a bird, and in the morning, _____" Now, the word "pie" can either be PIE (foot) or PI-E (i tweeted) So if you read this phrase without knowing how it's pronounced, you won't know whether the person woke up from the first dream, then went back to sleep in the moring and dreamed they were a foot, or if the night passed in their first dream and then, as a bird, they tweeted.

someone was screaming at a cashier for no fuckin reason once and so her superior who couldn't do much to the bastard screaming decided: "break time". he changed cloth and as a normal dude (no longer affiliated with Mcdonald because he was in his break time),decided to go ask the loud customer in his face if he wanted to take it outside. (the story is from when my bro worked there a few years back)

12:14 actually theres apparently a reason for this, childbirth is so painful it gets like wiped from the womans memory so they don't remember how it felt. on the other hand, getting kicked in the nuts apparently doesn't hurt bad enough for the body to warrant that, so idk man

15:16 correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that's a browser add-on thing, sort of like adblocker, that shows you whether or not somebody paid for their twitter checkmark, the reason it exists is because Elon decided to remove any features that allow you to normally see whether or not someone bought twitter blue because people kept complaining about getting their feelings hurt about it.
