I liken it to the casting of The unknown Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O hara . People in general find it easier to criticize than to praise . Casting someone who the world fell So intimately connected to that we still mourn and grieve her loss , seems absolutely unattainable . My take on the stag in Balmoral Test was that it represented Diana. She was the prize to be captured, won, and tied down, essentially. This might be one of the best casting of a role since Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O hara. To not only be brave enough to attempt to portray someone who the world loved , mourned , and held so intimately personal as Diana , but to actually deliver a universally acclaimed performance so perfect, she won the world over , is extraordinary. I wasn’t expecting it with a bar set that high, but when she appeared dressed in the tree costume hiding behind plants, and her voice , It instantly reignited so much suppressed emotion that only time could help bury , that Before I knew it , i was holding back tears. I feel like the deer represented Charles at first being sacrificed for the greater good of the family, but also becomes a metaphor for Diana as well because she becomes her own sacrifice for the family as she's forced to go through her miserable marriage. I really loved her acting! But apart from that, I love how she explained the scenes. It really shows how well she understood Diana. She did not merely act. Emma was the standout performance of this season and in my opinion it is the best season of the 4. Her portrayal of Diana is flawless and the ending is so heartbreaking I’m honestly very upset in that she won’t return for Season 5.

well the fifth season will have completely different actors because the characters grow older in the 90s and early 2000s, however the actress that'll play 30 year old Diana looks as promising as Emma Corrin (just like the rest of the cast)

Hated Charles. And hating him more after watching these clips. I feel sorry for Diana. After all she died while Charles is living happily ever after with Camila. I guess this show is just lightly touching what nightmares Diana faced. I am far away from UK and a Sri Lankan who has nothing against the royals. But I truly hate Charles for what he did to Diana. I say this just to Give a portrait of how the outside world see him and camela.

The marriage was "arranged" by Lady Fermoy and The Queen Mother. Charles and Diana both expressed there reservations about it more than once, but his Grandmother pushed him hard to get married to Diana. They only met each other 13 times before the marriage.

But to cheat on her, to make it very obvious that she didn't mean anything to him while his mistress made snide comments about Diana is really painful to imagine. And all this when she was a 20 year old. If she was a 30 year old woman, she wud have picked up on the cues n dealt differently maybe.
