Emma Cruises Explored Norwegian Prima Through FOOD

I’ve just disembarked a cruise on Norwegian Prima where I took a journey through food that included some seriously impressive cruise ship tech and some immersive dining experiences that I will never forget.
I even tested a few new cruise food concepts along the way that I’ve never seen before on a ship, or on land for that matter.

When we embarked Norwegian Prima in New York City we headed straight to the biggest main dining room onboard, Hudson’s. Hudson’s is a complimentary restaurant meaning that everything here is included and the food is totally unlimited, I’ve been cruising with Norwegian since I was a child and I always loved going to the main dining room for lunch or dinner.
You could, in theory, eat here for every meal of the cruise but as there are lots of other options so I wouldn’t recommend just eating in one place for an entire cruise.
The restaurant has these amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap right way around the sides meaning that whether you’re in a port or at sea, you always have a great view. I loved the design of the restaurant including these light fittings that I think look like butterflies that flutter slightly when the ships at sea.
The service was good, there was lots of choice on some of the biggest menus I’ve ever seen and we would end up visiting Hudson’s again for both breakfast and dinner during the cruise. There is a second main dining room restaurant onboard too which is a great option if Hudson’s is busy but we always picked Hudson’s because of the amazing views and we never had to wait for a table as the restaurant is massive.
One of my favourite things about cruising with Norwegian has always been the freestyle dining, which means that there are no set dining times for the main dining rooms and you just show up to eat when you’re hungry.
As well as the included main dining room there is included food in the buffet, the local and my personal favourite the indulge food hall but more about that later.

Emma is a favorite! Great choice, NCL. NCL is a favorite also, and in fact, I board the Prima in 3 days from now! NYC to Iceland!! And, a quick note about the Indulge Food Hall, no matter how quick they are, the guests are never rushed. You can order and order and order. Love it.

I made an enormous mistake...I watched this video on an empty stomach! What an amazing lineup of restaurants; so many that you couldn't even fit them all in one week...talk about a massive incentive to book a new cruise while on board! I think all they'd have to do is show me the menus of the restaurants I hadn't made it to! I've always thought that the quality and variety of dining options is what sets a cruise line apart. Any number of lines can take you to Bermuda. You'll find pools and bars and lounges on all of them. There's activities for all ages. But when the family or group comes together to sit around a table and enjoy each other's company, that's where dining quality separates the pearls from the oysters. From your video, Emma, I think I can safely say that the way to this man's heart is through Prima!

I’ve sailed on the Encore, and that was my first and only NCL experience so far. I absolutely loved the Encore, as well as most of the included dining. I’ll admit the MDR was something of a disappointment, but everything else was terrific. Contrast to that, I just got off a sailing with Royal Caribbean a couple of weeks ago (Harmony of the Seas) and nearly all the included food was mediocre to terrible, which was surprising to me, because my past dining experience with them was incredible. I have to say, their menu changes in the MDR are not a good move for them. But the Prima on the other hand - *WOW.* The included food looks exactly the same quality as specialty dining. That’s impressive. Been saying I need to get back with NCL, and this video proves it.

I was on the first 3 cruises open to the General Public . I love all the food especially the Steak and eggs at the main restaurant . The Entertainment was excellent . I did over over spend which will normally bother me but didn’t . The Theatre was big . I got to see every shows even if I have to wait. I didn’t like the small venue. The studio cabins and lounge was outstanding .

Emma has done a great job convincing me to overlook all the very bad reviews I've heard of Prima. Still very concerned about the reported over-crowding when the outdoor spaces aren't available (which they won't be in Iceland), but at least the menus seems to have started rotating like the other ships, so they're tweaking in response to feedback.

I went on the Norwegian bliss few years ago from NY. to Florida to Bahamas its the only cruise ive ever been on ,and my trip was totally paid for even my specialty meals witch i only went to one and 2 regular restaurants but i enjoyed the buffet than any restaurant on the ship and gained more than 10 pounds

Just sailed NCL Joy for 12 nights in April of 2023... every speciality restaurant was excellent, except for LaCucina! I don't know what happened to LaCucina since the last time we sailed NCL, but the food, menu choices and service was way below expectations! We still love Food Republic!!!

(The only exception was the Surfside Cafe, it didn't feel very special to me and food was just meh IMO. ) The view at Hudson's was so great, along with the one at The Commodore if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. The only specialty restaurants I went to were Cagney's and Le Bistro, but they were both amazing. I always went to The Local after coming back from something like the go-karts or pool, the pretzel bites to me were the highlight! Also one thing I must say is that Indulge is that I totally agree with you for Indulge Emma!! The ordering is so quick yet so good! It's definitely very unique to see the tablet ordering and I really enjoyed it. In general, I just really enjoy cruising with NCL and hope you do more NCL videos!!! Bye!!!!! (this is pretty much the video i've been waiting for since I started watching sooooo yeah haha)
