@@bonfyre4711 well the thing is she didnt just flat out say who raped her at first nor did she say her own name until she felt comfortable which obviously wasn't like some false accusation or else she wouldn't have made it anonymous about who the person was in the first place. Btw I do agree false allegations aren't okay but this isn't showing a bad message, its showing that its okay to tell people about what had happened. Btw the whole reason why many girls don't talk about being raped is specifically because of people like u because they are scared no one will believe them which happens all the time and has been shown in many movies as well. Either way its horrible.

I really appreciate what Lucy said in the beginning about Mitchell being dangerous and it’s true. All too often, young boys and men cross the line and it’s brushed off as them being “playful” and “annoying”. That behaviour can escalate if unchecked. It shows how harmful that “boys will be boys” mentality is.

Why not USA and others do that to rapists? We need a system of support and automatic investigation and harsh punishment But we also need to punish false Accusers and have identity of accused confidential unless found guilty In my country (that I love) right now There is a huge scandal in that at parliament house (house of federal goverment) that a historic rape took place allegedly by a staffer of a female staffer Britney Higgins had come forward Made serious claims Scathed the process and response Baring in mind she did not make an offical complaint to the police until after she went to the press And legally the police can't Investigate anything until that had been made There's been protests and such But here is the really important factor She had NEVER named the actual individual she's accused to the public That is being kept confidential until or if he is found guilty

@Mackenzie Evans none of what you said justifies revealing the identity of an accused the way it's done here None of it Nor does it justify just believing outright an allegation WITHOUT evidence or even an investigation, including a psychological report In the real world the accuser and broadcaster would be rightly and most likely successfully sued What about the mental health of those falsely accused???? I refer you to the Australian parliament house current alleged rape case going on right now Brittney Higgins has made an allegation Called for change and so forth But has refused to actually name and identify the man she has accused I have no problem with women Cong forward to the point where the actual person they have accused is actually found guilty, only then being identified In the new Zealand suspected rape but convicted for murder case of Grace Millane The accused name was withheld until he was found guilty Unfortunately the foreign Press wrongly did release it and that was rightly condemned But in nz no release of his name was legal until his guilty verdict That is the way it should always be

Did you even read the book or just sparknote it and vaguely pay attention in class. If you actually watched the movie, the boy she accused consistently violated many girls consent and made girls uncomfortable. They tried to report him but the administration ignored it since "boys will be boys". The moral of the story is if boys go unchecked on these actions they will escalate because they believe they have the entitlement to do so. If you honestly have an issue with that message, maybe you should go talk to your mother or even sister and you'll see why it's a bad opinion.

@@bonfyre4711 have you read to kill a mockingbird? You talk about racism against white people which isn’t a thing and The only way you could get that impression if you believe calling out racism is somehow racist. Seth is an amazing dude so it definitely does not show all men are rapists especially since there’s a scene of him wanting to slow down in his relationship with Vivian. Most guys are not rapists. Some women are rapists and some men have been raped. Calling out evil men is not calling out all men nor is it saying that all women are good. And when you have a rape allegation against you you to still get a fair trial. That happens. But women are so often not believed and their lives are messed with. A lot of times they get harassed and they have to relive their trauma over and over wow many people out there experience happened and I thought of others try to place the blame on them. To kill a mockingbird had a white woman( who was who severely abused and was implied to not have much of a choice) claim that a black man raped her. That is a story about racism. At that time white men who have no problem with the way they treated women would hear that a white woman was sexually harassed by a black man and would use it as an excuse to gang up on a black man even when it didn’t actually happen. He wasn’t given a fair trial. There is nothing in this movie about not being given your rights when you are accused of a crime.

@@bonfyre4711 The guy literally spit in the soda of the black girl who kept turning him down... He refused to back off when told to and has shown questionable behavior throughout the movie, but yet gets celebrated at every turn because he's the quarterback captain, the "golden boy." Rapists do get reported to police, but why is it that even the guilty ones often get let off easy? Often times, it's judges say that it's "boys will be boys" or "you invited him" and "being sent to jail will ruin his life and he'll lose his scholarship blah blah." Not all women go around accusing men willy-nilly of being rapists (and of the few that do, it hurts the credibility of the women were truly victims of rape). The situation is the same for men. Not all men go around raping women, but the few that do are why women are too fearful to trust a man's word in regards to rape. Why is it the responsibility of the victim to stay silent over their pain? Rapists ruined their own lives by committing the act in the first place. Why is it often times the victim who has to endure death threats and additional trauma when the rapist happens to be a person in a position of power or someone higher up on the social ladder?

Ah - This is disturbing Its actually promoting naming males as rapists on social media and ruining their lives on the basis of just believe all women And it's like 💯% ok with that No due process No reporting to police No Investigation to determine the level of truth Its like it's encouraging women to just claim rapists are these indivduals and there won't be any lives destroyed Does anyone even remember To Kill A Mockingbird?????????
