To be fair, Emma is six. It was coming up on the anniversary of her mother's "death", and she was having a hard time not having a mommy. It makes sense that she would attach herself to Sabrina because she's someone new and nurturing. Some would say why not Elizabeth, but Emma already knew her as an aunt figure. Sabrina provided something Emma was lacking in her life. At the end of the day, the place she tried to fill could never truly be filled by anyone else. As Sabrina herself even said, she can't fill that place because it is special. Emma is a kid who wants a mom.

Nastia 1 Emma is not bratty she loves Sabrina and wants her as a stepmother just like Emma wanted Madison on All My Children did. Kids have feelings and they dislike you based on how you treat them and you're tone and what comes out as mean or rude or nice like Sabrina gave Emma chocolate milk and cookies that is the best way to treat a child nicely kind words understanding how they feel and why.

Nastia 1 how would you feel if you had a son or daughter and someone talked to them like that. Kids have a right to have a friend they really like and sometimes they might not like a person that is a part of life.

I definitely think that Britt should have handles the situation more maturely but Emma was very bratty in that scene! I love her character but she never really gave Britt a chance! and you can tell that Britt was trying to make the best first impression but Emma had already had her written off so I can't blame Britt for lashing out but I do think it should have been handled differently.

Britt shouldn't leave Emma alone at their table. Britt should take Emma to the bathroom with her or Britt should take Emma outside with Patrick while she has to go to the bathroom.

@emilyasch - that's not how to talk to a bratty kid, that's called being a hypocrite and brat yourself. She is a child who lost her mother and is still upset and confused and not wanting a replacement, she's a child, is Britt a child too? Because if she was a child, sure, she can talk that way, but she's not, she's the adult here, she's suppose to be the mature one, you don't say something like that to a little girl who clearly is still reeling from losing her mother and having to be used to her father moving on, it's hard enough as it is for adults to deal with these feelings much less a child - if Britt can not even be mature enough to handle Emma being upset, then she needs not to be a mother or be with Patrick

I'm not all too good around children but I would never cross that line with a little girl! If a child is a spoiled brat, that's a judgment for their parents to make. It's not for someone who's constantly being a Brittch.
