Having lived in the Netherlands and know the language, I have seen many interviews with Emma. Such an intelligent, sensitive and beautiful young lady, totally down to earth. Greats like Jacque Brel and Edith Piaf could translate a song like no other, I have a feeling Emma is going to achieve this level as well.

When I listen to Emma it is like God is speaking to me through her. Her flawless voice is mesmerizing and packed with meaning. Best😊 young singer I have heard in my lifetime. She obviously benefitted from her family, who support her ambitions wholeheartedly!

Alex, that's a really helpful and informative video, and not the normal sort of reaction I expected, Thank you so much for spending the time to research and prepare it, the information it gives everyone that's beyond just a reaction to another spectacular performance is helping so much to paint a much clearer and wider picture of Emma, and that's what's so good about it. I've been using videos like them for a while to get to know more about the real Emma, and yes, the more I've found out, and learned, the more I've come to massively respect her and the family that has made so much possible, you are so right, all of her family deserves huge praise for how they've raised Emma despite all the challenges she's faced from so young. I still can't visualise how they coped with the massive issue of having to put a 9 month old toddler on a feeding system for 22 hours a day, there would have been so much about that whole scenario that would have been completely beyond Emma's ability to understand it at that age, and the other aspects of the mental disclipline she would have had to develop to cope with the massive list of restrictions on her every day life is incomprehensible, and yet she's emerged with what can only be described as a stunning personality that despite all that's come at her, radiates such love and happiness, I would love to have the opportunity to meet that whole family, there is no doubt, they are very special, and deserve our massive thanks for how much they've achieved in such a short space of time. Her parents are also need to be given huge praise for the way they've given all three of their children the freedom to follow their dreams, and to go for that dream even if it seemed impossible, and yes, there's another huge factor in there, the influence and effect that Andre has had on both Enzo and Emma, he has given both of them that fundamental and massively important first step up the ladder, and for Emma, by also so quickly taking her on the world tour after her first appearances on his Vrijthof stage, he's made it abundantly clear that her skill, her appeal and her ability is exceptional and he's said in another interview that she's even surprised him on occasions with how quickly she's learned and adapted to new work or different arrangements. There's no doubt about it, Emma is a very special and unique individual, and her presence brings happiness and joy to all around her, that's a very special gift, and I am so happy that Andre's taken her under his wing in the way he has, he did something similar a few years ago with a very young violin player, Akim Camara, Andre paid for his violin and piano lessons, and other things, for a considerable number of years, to protect him from the excessive and aggressive attention of media channels and the like, and I'm sure that he's doing exactly the same with Emma, for the same reason, he wants to ensure that Emma holds on to that beautiful personality, and isn't spoilt by the wrong sort of media attention. This next year is going to be very interesting as they develop her repertoire, she's more than able for some very powerful songs that at the moment are crying out for a vocal content, Andre did one at Christmas, 'My heart will go on', with one of the other sopranos, I think Emma could make another world beater with that song, and I'm hoping he will do a special for Dublin as a memorial to Sinead O'Connor, who died in mid 2023, it would certainly go down very well with the audience here, so I'm hoping for a special along those lines, he's done specials like that in previous years. I've mentioned it before in other comments, kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5vQfmONntCgp5Y Andre's presentation to Emma at the end of season event was hugely emotional, Andre was tearing up, along with some of the other members of the team, and even though we don't get to see the presentation, and there's no translation available other than notes in the comments to the video, the sound, the spontaneous applause as they realise that it's a music box of Voila, complete with the key change, that's priceless, the two still photos at the end are so revealing, Emma, the family and Andre, the absolute joy in their eyes, and the emotion, I hope in time that a better video will be released, it was certainly recorded by a professional team. In the years to come, it will mean so much to Emma and her family, and it shows only so clearly that she's absolutely got deep into Andre's heart, I'm almost the same age as he is, so I can absolutely understand how it's happened, and it's also clear from that interview in Amsterdam that Emma's relationship with Andre is equally deep and secure, I won't be surprised if she spends several years close to Andre and the orchestra, it will help her in so many ways. I'd love to see Andre give Emma, Sophie and Enzo a guest spot next year in Maastricht, the video of their performance would absolutely be viral in hours, the three of them together would be an incredible act to see, I've seen several of Enzo's performances, and they are incredibly powerful, and the one video of Emma and Sophie that's on KZbin is also really good, and if they were able to work together on a special performance for Andre, it would be mind blowing to see. My closing plea to everyone reading this. Please, as well as supporting Alex, who has done so much more than most reactors to give Emma real support, if you can, join me in making a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, gastrostars.nl They are a possible source of treatment or even a cure for people like Emma, it would be a tragedy if Emma had to stop singing because her gastroparesis had become worse, and her foundation may be the way that new treatment or a cure can be found, one of the key members of the team is a surgeon who worked at the Maastricht hospital, she also has gastroparesis herself, and she has been forced to give up her work at the hospital because of a deterioration of her health, so her focus now is the foundation, and with her knowledge, her input will be vital. It would be so good to hear that they have made a breakthrough that will enable Emma to be free to do what she is so good at, it would mean that her other dream could also become reality, with all she's been through in her short life, that would be so good..

Thank you for reacting to the interviews. She is a talented performer, but what is more impressive is how she is dealing with her condition which must be a huge inspiration to others with the same condition. I also like that she supports & performs at local events from local bike race ceremony, local festivals to WW2 fallen soldiers commemorations. In fact, I'm a little concern she is doing too much. Alex, you mention your In Ear Monitors (IEMs), out of interest have you seen Emma’s IEMs? They can be seen in some of her videos, were custom made for her, and have a butterfly logo on them; like her first single ‘I Want To Be A Butterfly’. The butterfly metaphor means a lot to her. There is lots of positive things to say about these interviews and your reaction - I would just observe how genuine André Rieu’s respect for, and care of, Emma is. It’s so very sweet.

Hi Alex. I really love your reactions on Emma. Emma is a big promise for the near future. So keep up the good work for her! There must be something in the water in the Netherlands because we got more very good singers. Have you ever reacted to Floor Jansen from Nightwish which is one of the best singers around at this moment? She also has done a lot of personal songs you should hear. Also amazing!! That confidence.... And not in a unpleasant way, but just as it has to be when you are trying to reach a goal in your life. It is amazing. And Emma can do such interviews in Dutch, English and German. And yes, she sounds very mature. But that is happening when you have to struggle every day with your health and when you always have to defend yourself against bullies just because you are ill or just because you are not very tall. And it helps her a lot that she is not shy at all. I mean: I would not have the courage to go on stage and sing a song in front of thousands of people. In fact I even would not go to a concert because I fear huge crowds... And Emma is doing it like she has a conversation with the audience. To me that is what is making her so unique, that fearlessness. She just goes for it and works hard for it as well.

Emma's "Voila" is magnificent. And of course it can only have been enhanced by the participation of Helene Fischer. But so too are the recordings by Barbara Pravi, one of the song's creator. AND I have found nothing else by Emma, which I like very much. Is it me? No. Of course not. I like about 98% of everything I have ever heard from Helene Fischer.
