I loved how emma played down the superstar tag questions not only from her own perspective but also how she is viewed by her parents and just would not succumb to the global superstar status that was suggested to what she has become since her historic us-open success.

Yes she focused on the moment in every match and didn't let anything bother her. Contrast her aggravated opponents (who all claimed they didn't play their best - because Emma wouldn't let them!) ; the excited Fernandez team in the final, jumping up and down and her sister shouting to her to smile. Contrast Emma's coach and team who showed calm and inner belief as much as Emma. A beautiful personality and a wonderful role model on how to show great respect to others.

Yes! I just replayed the whole match a few days ago (second time around), and was freshly impressed. Her character is top quality - a few times, when bested by an opponent's shot, she just smiled gently as she headed back to the base line. While I (as a Canadian) also like Fernandez a whole lot, Fernandez's complaint during Raducanu's medical time out was a real low point, and I'm glad Raducanu won. I also want to observe that Raducanu has the most accurate shots close to edges, corners, and lines that I have seen in a long time (possibly ever), and that certainly brings in the scoring points.

i love your comment and i think emma and her team were so zoned in that she stayed in the moment right from qualifying and as emma said all the outside stuff away from the tennis court was totally shut out and the noise had no volume or distraction in her completing her fairytale.
