Anyone here in 2024? I am a huge fan of Emma's dynamic voice and so glad I found her about 2 years ago during the dark age of my life. She can go from an ethereal southern folk flavor to a haunted forest in a snap with the dynamism of her voice, it's insane. It moves me. There is only one Her, and I cannot wait to see you perform live, Emma. Thank you for being a quick favorite on my Spotify shuffle list. I hope to see your new stuff 100% Much love, E

Dusty, I am here in 2024 🌟👍 I concur with you that ERR is The One and Only. She is a force of nature being who crafts soul-stirring and captivating art. Last night in San Francisco I saw ERR in concert. She told the audience one reason for her tour was to commemorate 10 years of Some Heavy Ocean. Last night it was just she onstage, with what appeared to be her acoustic electric 🎸 She played this track with a slightly slower tempo, and with more whispered vocals. It was absolutely riveting to witness live, as was her whole set, because she invests each note and lyric with such depth, emotional power and emotional clarity 🥲

Oh boundless life were we to gain From lost lands to the garden's gate Its fear of the frozen and unhappy skies Burnt now, burnt now, breathing only fire And deliver me from all the evil I did to myself And deliver me to arms so open, arms I know so well As for the dead, they can raise themselves In secret I sing for no one else Its fear of open spaces I have travelled in Come so far, dragged myself on this phantom limb Please deliver me from all the evil I did to myself And deliver me to arms so open, arms I know so well

Love ERR's music (her collab with Thou is one of my favourite albums of 2020), but I had never seen the videos for her songs : they're as beautiful as the music.

Is this song about love? or is it about looking to be rescued or something? I dunno... I'm a guy and I was listening to it and some of my male roommates were acting weird. It sorts of cathartic feeling to me. This is why I don't listen to music around people, ergh
@MOGHARRofValhalla5 жыл бұрын
that's unfortunate, dude. I view this song personally as not only being welcomed back into a loved one's or "safe" arms but also trying to forgive yourself and letting your own arms hold you and comfort you. "Deliver me from all the evil I did to myself" a powerful line

Your roomies suck, bad taste on music. Is like forgive yourself for bad decisions in the past, i guess.
