Plus at times they have to go back to a scene they did weeks before and create the EXACT same mood and emotion. It’s impossible.

That era was an odd time for cinema and I always remember a film critic saying of Arnie - He isn't particularly good looking, he can't act very well and he can't get rid of his accent, but he can do one thing that no one else can at the moment, and that is pack out a cinema.

Is an accent or lack of an accent a requirement to being a good actor? Arnold sells because he can grab the attention and entertain the public. I'm not a fan of action movies or sci-fi, but most of the ones i like have Arnold in them.

D Anton Great actors can even completely change their accents for the role. Mr Arnold is not even a good actor... But still, he was awesome in Terminator. I watched it again after many years and was veeery surprised how convincing and terrifying he was there. Maybe he just needs a great director?

@@vtastek He's literally playing an emotionless robot who never speaks or makes facial gestures, that really doesn't require acting, you never see him crying, laughing, mourning loved ones, fearing for his life, etc... He's the most type casted actor there is with no range at all. Sure he's irreplaceable and iconic in the terminator series but he's not an actor as much as he is a movies star, just try picturing him in any other movie like transporter for example, you cant... He has no range and it would flop horribly.

@@siniuu Hi of course. When asked about acting in Junior, she was saying how Arnold Schwarzenegger was orange in colour, like Simon Cowell, which got everyone laughing. When asked if he could act she replied "no but he was very honest about that", which got a few laughs too. Then Graham went on to introduce her new film Mr Banks, which is brilliant by the way, and they pulled up a very awkward picture of her and Tom Hanks, then she dived on the floor and said "I can't help it". When getting up she took flowers out of the fruit bowl and said "these are good props for later" and proceeded to put one in her hair. That was the end of the clip 🙂

Many A-list actors are not really very good actors. That doesn't mean their movies are bad. It just limits the types of roles they can play. Arnold essentially plays the same character over and over in nearly every movie but he plays that role very well indeed.

Some (if not all?) of the greatest "actors" in Hollywood can't/couldn't actually "act" either, they just played themselves in practically all of their movies. Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Marlon Brando, etc .. not one of them could do an accent or change their appearance in any meaningful way.

Clint Eastwood adn Wayne are not great actors. Acting isn't just abou accent, is about becoming a character, create an emphaty with the viewers so that they can't feel what the charater feels. Schwarzenegger can't do that.
