Emma vs boy high school boys jv wrestling match for 3rd place

this was a large 16 team jv boys tournament where I had lost only one match in the semi final. I normally wrestle girls varsity but was invited to this tournament by the jv team to wrestle at 113. this round was for 3rd or 4th place. enjoy!

Congratulations Emma! You are absolutely amazing...nobody likes losing, but do any of the boys take it especially hard after being defeated by a girl in wrestling or do they just consider it part of the sport??

No one likes it but it's becoming more and more common for girls to be competitive with boys, especially when the boys aren't top athletes and the girls are.

You are a really impressive and physically strong girl wrestler big respect you stay om the mat against guys and beat then.I am beat a lot of guys and i am a strong guy but wrestle girls and have some loses against girls. What is the difference between wrestle guys and girls for you.What did you think why so many girls beat guys often older guys? Did you like more dominated technical or physically the guys?

At my age boys are stronger pound for pound, so it gets harder every year to win. My experience and training helps a lot. Keep grinding, and find a good club

@@emmabauknight7730 i wrestle in a mens league in europe who is allowed female wrestler.And it is in some weight class no physically differences!One girl was 17 age and beat 9-2 against men opponents in 64kg the men ages 20 to 28 age,incredible.

No we do t get to record every match. I won all the way to the semi, lost by pin and then won this match for 3rd. I think my record for the day was 5-1. The boy who pinned me won 1st place and I never wrestled the boy who came in 2nd

Nice job. What was the score? Did the ref did award any points for the take down at 6:02? You were lucky that did not happen at mid-mat because I think you would have had a miserable time bridging for the last 10 - 12 seconds? It looked like he had a decent half nelson going? Wrestling can be cruel -- I wrestled four years in HS and was 28 - 2 - 1 my senior year. I lost my trip to State when I ran into the eventual state runner-up in the second round of the regional. We were tied 3 - 3 at the end of regulation but he won on riding time! 😪 That was 60 years ago but I still remember that match so clearly! 😂🤣

Interesting you say earlier that at 15 boys are getting a lot stronger, but here you are getting it done against this pretty tough, lean fellow anyway. That's so impressive. I assume you're both in the same weight class? And he certainly looked at least your age. Have you gone against this boy before?

This was a jv tournament. There is a big difference in strength at this age I had the advantage of more training than most of them.
