Do yourself a big favor and buy unfinished cabinets and a butcher block countertop from Home Depot. Easy to install and work perfectly. I put a tiny kitchenette in my laundry room and it looks and functions fantastic.

Just so you know, you fixing your door knob inspired me to fix my bedroom door handle that has been wiggling like crazy for years!! I could not for the life of me figure out how to pop the knob off, but my daughter finally got it and tightened the screws inside. Yes!!! You're an inspiration for all :)

Awesome work! You tapped a hole! Yes throw them counters in as is. Don't forget to do a tug test on the seatbelt, sometimes the mechanism needs to be mounted vertically to work right. Just give it a quick sharp tug and see if it locks.

Turn the key on and wait to see the power gauge go back up to normal turn it off and then do that three more times you’re warming up the glow plugs after that it should start

You need to install a anti theft plate to the outside of your door over the locking mechanism because someone could use a screwdriver to Jimmy the walk open even if the doorknob is locked ask them at the hardware store they will be able to show you what you need to install you would use a carriage bolt or 2 to install it with the carriage part on the outside so no one could remove the bolt to get the plate off

You could install a Battery Tender on your start batteries for regular 120v. Anything in the 2amp range should work fine. Use the ring terminals and use a plug in so if you have it plugged in or the inverter on it can charge the start batteries...You could even put it on a light switch off the inverter so you can turn it on as needed. But off when you're just boondocking and need to conserve. A 1.5a will draw about 30w at 120v to charge then almost nothing when you're not charging. It doesn't take much to keep batteries topped off. Check the water level in your batteries...they shouldn't really be that low yet. Just make sure you get the 12v or 24v charger whatever your bus is. Having fully charged batteries makes a huge difference when cold starting.

But that was a dead/damaged battery...the heater won't help that. That will also require plugging into 120v...when she's boondocking...she doesn't have that option...there probably is on on there

It feels like one of the challenges you might be facing is that you don’t necessarily have a lot of passion for bus life and that is 100% ok. I only mention that to also say that you could probably pick another direction for your life and by default your channel and make videos about that - whatever it is. You’re a quirky and interesting enough character to probably still be successful with whatever you land on. I mean, if what you’re doing isn’t done from a place of passion then it’s just work……a chore. I don’t know, food for thought I guess.

Take those 1/2” screws that came with the door plate out. That is your main security. Pick up a couple of 4” construction screws if you have the space. Put them in. They will hold up to 100 times the abuse.

I'd say it's time to cut your loses on the current counter top... Use it as a pattern and move forward with a premade, A grade plywood, or glued up craft panels. Keep making lists and setting good goals, you're doing great ! Enjoy !

Hi Emma, it wasn’t clear from the video but be aware that the anchor points for your seatbelts are really important please do not DIY where you put those bolts. If it gets inspected you could fail or worse.

I agree with you and I doubt they are strong enough. The biggest worry would be not that they fail an inspection but that during an accident they might let go and someone could get seriously hurt.

Remember that when you try to start a Diesel engine. Keep turning it over with the starter until it starts. It’s not like a gas engine. When you are starting a diesel you are building heat. Keep cranking.

Your very first words in the video, I have found myself asking many times. Your very last words, I hope you did toss them in and go on your trip. Now for a little advice, I have done many door knob installations, and I find finger starting both screws the best. And I know, you have already heard a lot about those bolts, but I hope you got to them, as those are rather dangerous, I have run into bolts like that before and done a bit of damage to myself, my clothes and to things I have been carrying.

Emma several people and I are seriously concerned about the placement of the bolts of your seatbelt. Could you please let us know you have heard our concern. The anchor points for the seatbelts are factory designated and it appeared you drilled a new hole to attach it. THIS IS LIKE HAVING AN EMPTY FIRE EXTINGUISHER. The only time you need emergency equipment is in an emergency and having something you think is reliable is worse the not having anything.
