Doughnuts are definitely breakfast food in the US! Most independent doughnut shops open at 5 or 6 am and won't be open into the later afternoon. It's very common to bring boxes of a dozen doughnuts to work or other events in the morning to share

I just this video about the Princess Cruises around the UK. It just so happens by wife, and I took the same cruise on September 18th of 2022 on the Emerald Princess for her birthday. It was our first cruise ever and it sold us on cruising. Your description of the cruise and ports was exactly what we experienced, and we had signed up for another cruise in the Caribbean before we left the ship, which turned out to be really good too. I really enjoy your commentaries and videos on cruising, you truly do a great job!

Honestly, I love a good graveyard. It tells you a lot about a place and they’re often very lovely with gorgeous landscaping and architecture. When I went to Finland and Sweden some of my favourite places I visited were the cemeteries. I even went to one in NYC and to go from this hustling busting built up metropolis to a rolling green landscape was a breath of fresh air.

I'm from Greenock! I'm glad you enjoyed my wee town, it was heavily hit by the decline of heavy industry and the resulting poverty and the area is finally seeing investment and regeneration again, it would be wonderful to see more passengers stay and spend local, there are some more worthwhile things to see and do in the area with just a short bus or taxi journey! I'm really saddened that Princess displayed a sign warning of drugs but only for the Greenock Port. Yes the area has seen issues with drugs but no more or less than any large town in the UK. I feel it paints the area in a really poor light :(

When I was a child in the 1960s, I had an elderly babysitter from Scotland whose father was a ferryboat captain on loch Ness in the late 1800s and early 1900s. She said that as children they were warned to stay away from loch Ness because of the monster.

Greenock was awarded the most deprived town in Scotland according to government statistics a couple of years ago. The drugs warning was likely in recognition of that fact that its about the only 'business' doing well here. Taking a bus to Largs for a couple of hours would be a better shout, if you don't want to go straight to Glasgow. As someone who has lived in Greenock all my life, I can say with certainty, its not good for tourism. But its good that you saw all the spots I've grown up with. Watching that section made me feel a strange mixture of pride & sadness knowing that was about the only decent things you could see here. I live close to the Cemetery you were talking about, in the day its serene and perfect for walks. At night its utterly pitch black because there are 0 lights within its forested interior. Quite scary.

Interesting for me as I disembarked the day you embarked on Emerald Princess . However on my cruise around the British Isles with a slightly different itinerary, I caught Covid after Cobh and was put in a quarentine cabin . The day after the Captain advised all passengers to wear a mask on board unless eating or drinking . So my cruise experience was somewhat different and the weather was chilly from Belfast onwards until the last two days , one at sea and the other in Le Havre. Cannot fault the care and service from Princess staff . Outstanding. Room service including those lovely chewy cookies .

Thanks for this video. I have been binge watching your back catalog. I love your presenting style. As an Irish person I am glad you enjoyed your time here and took the time to add relevant comments on names etc. However we will have to disagree on the whole "british isles" term. That's a britism and is not accepted or recognised here. Would you be happy if you lived in the Celtic Isles? A more neutral term is the Islands of Britain and Ireland. However getting anyone from the Britian part of that to accept even that is difficult lol. Anyway clear sailing and looking forward to seeing your future travels.
