Absolutely love coats. They are my addiction! Your collection is beautiful! ❤️ That taupe H&M coat, I bought just before your insta post (I have learned well 😂), I am 5’3 and size 4/6 and I can get away with an XS. It’s definitely very oversized, but I love it for that. So if there’s any of you guys who are petite and considering it, you can go for it. Don’t be put off, unless you hate the oversized look. Personally I think it’s gorgeous and the quality for the price, plus the recycled wool content, makes it a no brainer. And it’s great for super chunky knits under there! Xx

A year after you aired this video, I've watched it twice and taken notes. It's SO helpful to have your input on fit, quality and fit (oh, wait. Did I say fit already??!). So I'm strolling through all your autumn-winter videos. 😃 I also appreciate the fact that you are very down to earth. There are some other fashion KZbinrs I follow and I realize when they get more and more followers, they start to share more high-end things like designer bags, which is nothing wrong. And I agree that we should reward ourselves with nice treats. But the endless luxury unboxings every second week just makes me feel that those are no longer the style I want to go for. My favorite is the Stories camel coat, I like a full-button closure, that has three buttons. For my long commutes, on foot and bus, I always wore my Dior wool coat that buttons up to the neck, it cuts the wind getting in the blouse V. I bought that coat 30+ years ago, and it is still beautiful, but I no longer commute, so t doesn’t get worn as much.

Bearing in mind your #second hand but grand, I found 2 coats I could wear after altering, that belonged to my mother-in -law. One a classic trench with a checked lining, not a Burberry but such a good quality trench in Taupe, then a black and white tweed coat that’s also got a Chanel look to the fabric. At the Tailors it’s cost me £40 to have the Trench taken in at sides, sleeves and length, and £15 to have the Tweed coat just taken in. So chuffed especially as I was very close to my Mum-in-law 😀

Thank you for such a great video and for sharing your lovely style with us! Loved your collection and the talk through... I love it that the belt loops on the Curated coat are detached. We all have different proportions, and so often, the attached belt loops are below my natural waist. I always take my belt out and put it over the belt loops at the right spot on my body and then keep the belt in my pocket :))) I don't know why it never occurred to me to take the coat to a tailor and move them 🙈 duh...😂

I live in Kansas so we get a full four seasons (though usually shorter spring and fall) and it gets bitter cold in the winter but even I only have four coats 😂 I definitely want to expand my collection but I'm being a bit picky because I want forever pieces that are better quality. I bought a taupe Tahari coat online from TJ Maxx (or TK Maxx for you Brits) last winter and while I liked it at the time I never wore it because it just feels a bit fancy for my lifestyle, it's about knee length on my 5'7" frame and tailored with a belt. I find the color tricky since it's kind of a weird taupe meets beige meets a little bit of mauve. I'm thinking about selling it if I don't put it on by December because it's just wasting away. My favorite coat that I own is a floral printed teddy coat from Anthropologie, it's got a black base with pinky-red roses with light green leaves on it (so yes it's very bold but I like bold/color). It's not very flattering since I have very broad shoulders and it's a fluffy coat that hangs away from my body but I just love the color/print so much.

One quick question, do you (or anyone in the comments) have any recommendations for a good style of coat to wear over a blazer? I have a couple I really want to wear over the winter period but they have 3/4 length sleeves so it's too cold for me to wear them alone! Thanks in advance!

I would love to know which one of the wool/wool blend coats is the warmest, I find it hard to withstand proper winter months in UK in those type of coats and I am considering investing in better quality one, that maybe has a higher wool percentage and is thicker, but I am not sure if that would make enough of a difference or are they all pretty much the same in that aspect. Love the video!
@AngeliqueRouge5 жыл бұрын
gruzlicapluc Apart from that do you wear thermo underneath and cashmere? I think they form a really warm base underneath any coats.
@gruzlicapluc5 жыл бұрын
@@AngeliqueRouge That's a good tip, although my workplace gets pretty hot in the winter so I find that then I get too hot in the inside. So ideally I would prefer to have most of the 'cold protection' in my outerwear.
@AngeliqueRouge5 жыл бұрын
gruzlicapluc Right. Then I would suggest wearing a cardigan for layering so you can take it off whenever you need it. As for outerwear, wool and cashmere blend is usually warmer.
