It is necessary to have a spiritual father or mother so that he/she grooms you in the things of the Spirit. God will not come down & groom you, He sends/sent particular man to do that. God sends. You might ask & say why do u need to be groomed, can't u groom yourself, since we are all God's people. You will get your answer from 2 Timothy 2:20-21, Romans 9:20-24, Romans 9:15-18. Then on the issue of spiritual fathers, they are there in bible. You can find it from 1 Cor 3, 1 Cor 4:15-17. & The things in bible were written for our instruction, Romans 15 :4
