You will need to check if the fig leaves have fig rust fungus problems. The leaves have rust like spots in early stage, then they turn yellow prematurely and fall off. The figs can still grow to maturity with limited production and smaller. I do not know what variety you have, but if you have Celeste variety, then fruit dropping is common when the tree is young. Other varieties are less prong to fruit drop. As for your guava tree, please check for diseases/insects infestation. Common issues are scales, aphids, and fungus type disease due to hot and humid condition. Potted guava tree needs watering everyday in the hot Houston area. Try to prune off some of the inward growing branches, and limit number of fruits, along with fruit bags to protect the fruits, you may have something in return in the fall.
@@Emmanuel143 In the early spring, fig cuttings put directly into potting soil/ground are much easier to root. I did that with 100% success rate. In the summertime, they also root pretty easy, though the pots need to be in the shade till they root.
In general, about three years at least, depending on the varieties and growing conditions. Be warned that only pollinated seeds are viable for germination. These seeds come from areas where fig wasps are present, such as in Mediterranean or Californian areas.
