Hey everyone!
This is a simple tutorial I use all the time to enlarge and project photos on to canvas so that I can draw and trace round lines to get exact measurements.
I hope this is helpful!

Very much like the old masters used to do. You have brought a very affordable way for anyone to enlarge an image. I use a projector, but I am lucky to have one. This is so nice for those who want to enlarge images.

you are right freehand drawing is not easy, it takes plenty of practice. Vincent Van Gogh said, to be a Fine Art painter, you have to start with drawing. Wish you luck with your paintings

You are a life saver!! I am making a display at work (Lowes) for the christmas tree tent area. I needed to project an image onto a fence panel so I could paint it on there. Our projector is missing and to rent one for a 20 minute job was crazy. I have tried some other methods and they didn't work. THIS WAS PERFECT!! I can't thank you enough for making this video!!

Brilliant!! I am a silk painter and I frequently need to enlarge my drawings to the proportion of the canvas I will be mounting my silkpainting on (photo>tracing>enlargement). This is by far the simplest, easiest, and cheapest means I have seen of doing that! Thank you for saving me $ on a fancy projector:))))

Omg! Emma! You are a genius! Thanks so much for the video and the demo. The best ever. You can also use transparency sheets for the tracing. I bought a large piece to make a grid, but I can now cut it to the size I need for this project. Inexpensive, works great and you can do it in any size you want. This is the best video. Blessings and be safe.

This is such a great idea! I think I’ve heard of it before, but you explained it all so well. I trace a LOT, using carbon paper or just laying down a lot of graphite or color pencil on the back of the photo or image, bc I just don’t want to take forever before I can even start painting… the drudgery of erasing, drawing, adjusting, erasing, again, and on and on before I can even get get going with the best part. Thanks so much!

What a cost saver Emma! This technique will never fail because of equipment failure or connection with a mobile device issues, further more it does not require us to download yet another App to accomplish this task! Brilliant! I'm going to use Clear Acetate or Mylar Sheets to trace my images onto because they are perfectly flat, and you can choose how thick you want it to be. Furthermore, you can easily save the image in a file folder or manilla envelope, should you want to use it again in the future! My Mom was an elementary school teacher for 38 years; the Clear Acetate or Mylar sheets I'm referring to are the exact same thing she used with the overhead projection machines in her classroom!! I have considered purchasing an old used overhead projector, but they are hard to find. I think there is only 1 company that still manufactures these machines and the price of a new projector is apx $300. Thank you for this content Emma! ~~Christy~~
