I really enjoyed this video. Im a millennial that grew up in the late 90s. There was a resurgence of MOD fashion then. Keep up the cool videos.

Glad you enjoyed it! I was actually thinking about making a video about all the resurgence of 1960s fashion. I feel like the first come back came in the 80s with all the bright colors and plastic jewelry but the 90s two had a lot of 60s inspired pieces. xx

Yeah, there was a big mod revival in L.A. in the 80s, weekends there would be a long row of scooters parked in front of the ON Club on Sunset Blvd. The ON Club hosted local ska bands, Prince Buster on the house p. a. Bit of local history most locals don't t know.

90s kid too. We called it Manchester music. British music became more well known and bands like Blur, Verve, Radiohead, Stone Roses, Cranberries, Oasis etc were popular and the mod clothes were a thing. The vintage shops and thrift stores were so much fun to go through back then!

I was a London Soho Mod from '64-66, It was an experience never to be forgotten. Saturday night at the The Last Chance and early Sunday morning at the Scene Club (temple of Mod). Certainly part of the experience was fuelled by amphetamines (blues) which helped keeping awake on a Saturday night/Sunday morning.

With the britpop scene in mid 90's britain, there was definately a resurgence of a type of mod style and attitude with clothes and hairstyles. A few of the bands of the era had mod influences and took certain elements of mod style in to how they looked and presented themselves, so being young at that time you wanted to look like the bands you were in to. I can remember a group of us walking down the street at the time with moptop hair and wearing fitted retro clothing , and hearing a chap say there's all these 60's looking people about everywhere!!. It was sort of a mixture of elements of mod and the football casual subculture look, at least for the male's anyway.🙋‍♂️

Thanks for making and sharing your video. I was part of "The Mod" subculture in London. I was a Mod who rode a motorcycle, because of my love and speed for them. However, I'd dressed as a Rocker when riding my motorcycle to travel to work, and just riding around London for pleasure. I'd dressed as a Mod when hanging out with other Mods {driving the Learner's Scooters - Vespas and Lambrettas}, and when nightclubbing.

This is my generation, baby ! I’m rewatching Bewitched (it was a comfort series when I was little) and seeing the fashion evolve as the years pass is fascinating. Some episodes focus on the trends of the time (often to criticise them) and it’s a great insight.

Born in 1953, *my mother* is very much a 60's mod in terms of her personal tastes and overall style: she basically *looks like France Gall but with black hair!*

m m m my g g generation..... Yah, please, a vid on rockers! This is the best explanation of mod I've encountered, I've looked around... all that I could find out about was the guys' bum-freezer suits that modern jazz aficionados wore, and the scooters and music. Thanks!🥰

No it wasn’t :) but I always record these videos in the same spot so that’s why it might be familiar. Also in the one that’s about general 60s fashion I’m talking about lot about the mods so that might be the reason too :)

MOD was started in Hamburg it was originally the Post War Modernist Movement. It was started by German kids who were hanging out o the Reepabahn watching off duty US Canadian and British Musicians serving in Occupying Forces Europe starting in 45. This movement quickly ended up being the absolute centre of the new Rhythm n Blues British Music movement bringing the Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes Edwin Starr Geno Washington etc to Hamburg to play the clubs there. These German kids for the first time in history, had choices of what to do, wear, listen to and enjoy and live where before the War all of Europe was stuck in a 17th Century way of life where everyone was stuck under the thumb of the. monarchs of Europe etc. Eventually these Brit Bands who were exposed to the US and Canadian Musicians who were also serving in Europe post war, brought this idea back to England in the fifties where Tickets (Mod predecessors and Teddys) were now running the streets dressing in fine clothes that they would never have had access to before the War. These kids had at ages of 14 and 16, taken over the jobs that were previously only done by Adult men but with the majority of the Male population of Europe having been killed injured and maimed due to the 2nd World War, these youths were earning Money for the FIRST time in history at the age of 18 and 19 and they were now living in downtown London, going to all the Jazz Clubs to see the great US soul Blues and Rock n Roll musicians now coming over at high lace. These Brit kids eventually in 64, coin the Term Mod for Modernist due to their belief in they being the very pinnacle of modern style living and power. The Mod movement as we know it now would never have happened if it were not for this early Post War Modernist Movement. Finally these young working class kids needed transportation so they could get to and from., The Italian Scooter became the easiest, cheapest and most fashionable way to do this. Eventually, kids all over England Scotland, Ireland and Wales got tired of the same old London Mod Scene and a very select few started hanging around the US Air Bases waiting for US Soldiers and Canadian Soldiers coming over to serve bringing their records of which most were Blues Soul and rare music. This started the Northern Soul movement as London continued to over play the obvious number 1 hits from Stax and Motown, the Soulies wanted more and more un heard Soul music and B sides from these amazing singers and from the singers that never made the Top ten Radio list. To Omit this extremely Vital part and beginning of MOD is to completely ignore the True Origins of MOD Keep The Faith-from an expert on British Sub Culture

Hi! great job on the video, but at 3:36 you are showing a picture of the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood/Los Angeles. Johnny Rivers had a residency there when it opened (January 1964) and recorded a live record during that time.

The 60's offered so much in the fashion scene that represented the youth culture that was emerging through the Mods and the swinging 60's as a whole Glad when Britpop emerged in the 90's because the 60's came back into the culture through the music and fashion
