Cain only attacked Jimmy because of Tom. Nicola understands why Cain attacked Jimmy because Jimmy believes Tom's lies. And Tom is the one who is tearing the Kings apart because he is a master of manipulation and lies. Tom actually blackmailed Paddy to give his job back or else Tom will reveal what exactly. It's not like Tom has any leverage to use as blackmail. Their Belle is going through hell to Tom's horrible expense and Jimmy is letting Tom free to do whatever he wants or likes to whoever he wants. Belle is in the psych mental unit for her safety and protection away from Tom. Everyone is in Belle's support corner. Her family the Dingles and her friends who believe her over Tom. Even Nicola King knows Tom's true colours now after frightening the hell out of Carl King. Tom smashed up his laptop that had enough evidence to incriminate Tom King. And now that evidence is gone along with Tom's laptop. There's nothing to charge Tom with domestic violence and coercive control of Belle. So it's her words against Tom's and Jimmy is Tom's only support system. He's already lost Amelia and Esther. So attacking Jimmy King is for Belle.

Not poor Jimmy King. Jimmy deserved it for believing Tom's lies. Tom King is a control freak who beats women to his advantage of belittling them to installment of cameras inside and outside of the house and property to selling of Belle's car that Cain brought her to smashing an urn with Lisa's ashes inside to installing a web camera on Belle's phone and laptop linking the cameras to track her phone to watch Belle's every move. After the dinner get together. Tom lost it with Belle and put her hand and arm under a very hot water tap burning her leaving bruises on her. And you're saying poor Jimmy. Jimmy's nephew Tom is a violent abuser and poor Amelia finally saw it for herself at the Guy Fawkesbon fire night the Dingles held. That's why Amelia left Tom. She took Esther and left Tom. Jimmy just can't see Tom the way everyone does. And it's poor Jimmy. Jimmy deserved what he got from Cain. Tom will get his cuppentance soon enough.
