The best theme Emmerdale ever had was the 1993-1998 theme, fast pace piano version.

The original emmerdale farm theme had an oboe as the lead instrument and piano backing instrument.😉 this theme just uses a piano also it's not a permanent theme it's a John Lewis tie in also I think this theme fits the soap better than the coronation street one. also maybe they could keep this theme as a sad ending (maybe slowed down a bit?)

Personally, I feel like it should be a special theme for when a character dies or leaves. Like what Eastenders have, rather than it be the actual theme. Edit: Oops I just read the descriptionXD so hopefully this won't be a new theme. Though I still by with what I said about this or something similar being a theme for sad episodes

I think it's none other than Elton John playing these theme tunes. Why else would they say all will be revealed at 9:15pm on Thursday when the only thing they screened around that time was the new John Lewis advert featuring Elton? I don't think these theme tunes are permanent but perhaps just a small tribute to a man who has given so much to music during the past 50+ years.

better than corries, the intro is great but it's generally way too happy for a soap. the ad breaks are supposed to add suspense! not make it sound like everything is fine!!
