I remember back when Ashley was alive, that he had big problems with his anger and acting out as well. He used to abuse his own father as well. Which are traits that both Gabby and Arthur have picked up, they both need help. And it's not just cause they had crazy home life, lots of kids have that and they don't take to tormenting someone or ruining lives.

Laurel's Life has been a mess since she came to the Dales. Dealing with Jasmine (Her Niece By Marriage), seeing her Home get burned down because of her and Debbie Dingle, then her Cot Death, then Ashley's Father Sandy, then dealing with Ashley's Dementia, then being an Alcoholic, then going crazy on her Kids, which I think traumatized Arthur. Remember in Divine Secrets Of The Ya Ya Sisterhood, Vivienne Abbott aka "Vivi" had a breakdown, threw her kids outside, and started whipping them. She had to go to a Hospital to deal with her Mental conditions and with the exception of her Daughter Siddalee, none of her kids want anything to do with her. Also remember that Maggie Smith was in The Movie became she became The Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey. I can identify with Jimmy, I got accused of things that I didn't do but nobody believed me at first and then when the truth came out, I was lucky to get an apology.

This wasn't the first time that someone was "accused" Wasn't Nicola or Laurel accused of abuse back in the day. Also on Coronation Street Claire Peacock was accused of Abuse as well. Also I feel that Arthur had alot of repressed Grief over losing his Father knowing he died whose Memory was just a mess.

Arthur does need help, actually laurel should consider family counseling for Arthur, Gaby, and herself.
