Really!? personally, I think it's a very realistic storyline and the writers did a fantastic job. I don't think it's done on for too long. I do think that it being a secret from Mandy had gone on for too long but now Mandy knows it's ok.

Victims of abuse usually can’t “just fight back” firstly is the mental side of things. He’s scared of Paul and as he said is “walking on eggshells around him” also, vinny is not a violent person. Not to mention the fact that Paul outweighs him and is older and stronger. If he did decide to “just fight back” it probably wouldn’t end well. Take it from someone who knows, you can’t “just fight back”

Max Parker (Luke) was never in the closet, he just never made a big announcement about it. As for his having had a fling doesn't make him necessarily gay, he could be bi like Robert or pansexual for that matter. When he first arrived in Emmerdale, a lot of people picked up on the tension between him and Aaron and even then people thought that's where it was going to go. It's only pathetic to people who have issues with non-straight characters and/or storylines.
