within a small group setting, its def one of my favorites. Big band is a lil different so i count that as a different flavor of this song. But overall, this is an amazing recording with fresh language and fresh takes and is one of the best out there

Jazz at its finest. Pure magic just keeps happening in that livingroom. Just saw the Emmet trio here on Long Island at the wonderfully intimate* Jazz Loft, it was a total blast! *SO intimate that I actually bumped into Emmet at the stairway between the upper and lower levels- so I told him how much I enjoyed his playing, and he said he appreciated it.

Yikes - double-time alto at this tempo! Bird Reincarnates in the covid era! Fat/dark trumpet sound - like Fats Navarro channeled. Freely propulsive and melodic drums throughout but dang, that solo! Emmet comps, extending/sequencing boldly - blazing solo!
