I didn't let him become a lich. I made him get Manfred back and face his fear of dying. This lich-thing feels incredibly wrong to me. Seeing him go in there and let himself get killed just to be brought back as this thing was heartbreaking to me. Never ever will I watch this ever again

I agree, it's painful to watch. I like the ending where he brings Manfred back. So at least he gets a family, a purpose. And maybe later he will have time to become a lich.
