I love the “this doesn’t hit hard enough” comments. Sorry, not every band wants to sound like they are in the depths of hell. This current lineup of Emmure is putting out its best work with the last two albums. If you can’t appreciate the sentiment and emotional impact of these lyrics, especially with this new album, then it’s not for you. This band gets hate for no reason no matter what they do.

all i hear in the lyrics is Frankie being upset about someone outdoing him. Yes, he sets the stage (he doesn't, he literally walks onto it). His rage is pretty immature now, no one actually cares about what he's saying..he's lucky to have the instrumentals behind him. This will be the last Emmure album

I got the feeling this song is not from Frankies perspective, but from the gatekeepers perspective, that kept putting him (and the band) down through the years for the type of music they make. And i think the sample at the end confirms it "i just like to make music" as "i dont want to be hated for it"

@@franklyput Hilarious. Emmure has been a pioneering band for a entire generation of heavy music listeners. 8 albums deep. Almost 20 years in the music world. What the fuck did you ever do besides leave anonymous KZbin comments? This song tells it how it is. Every single heavy band gets the "Sounds like Emmure" tag at some level. The consensus on individuals who have met Frankie, he's a good and humble dude. I don't think Emmure is the best or most innovative band to ever exist, but to discredit the longevity and impact they have made is willful ignorance.
