Brooklyn Sizemore AND her hard times videos. She’s never disrespectful, always very informal and willing to try everything. She never says “that’s disgusting” she just says “personally it’s not my favorite” and it really feels nice because there are people in that situation or have been in a situation where they had to eat say: the clay cookies. You might want to look into an instant pot, the main advantage of these is portability but neither of these seems to have a lot of Versatility beyond what you can get out of a standard small rice cooker or crock pot. If you're just setting up a desktop kitchen for a dorm or efficiency apartment you will get a lot more mileage out of an instant pot. That being said I suspect that these are a lot cheaper then a full-blown instant pot and I consider a rice cooker one of the most wonderful tools ever conceived for a extreme budget situation. Free Pro tip a good rice cooker can make a Zatarain's box simply by dumping in the ingredients in flipping a switch

I’m an RA at my university and unfortunately in the dorms a lot of these kind of products are not allowed. If we are lucky enough parents will donate a microwave in the common areas for students to use. Currently my dorm has a terrible microwave that no longer has the power to heat up food like an average microwave. Sometimes it’ll take 5-6 minutes to heat up ramen or any dish. This would be pretty neat to have if universities would allow it- but I would make sure with anyone’s college that these are allowed.

My oldest just started college this fall. He packed one of these along with a kettle. Haven't heard him having any trouble with it so far. It uses same wattage as the kettle so I don't see what the issue would be. Just teach em common sense. It turns off on its own anyways. If they ask tell em it's a toy hehe

@@cutienerdgirl speaking as a former RA, there are normally room checks and safety inspections that go on. We were well acquainted with what things were allowed and anything not allowed we would have them explain what it was and if necessary confiscate the items and/or send them to our supervisors to get a better judgement of the item in question. That being said if it wasn't a hot plate we generally didn't really care.

I would love it but as with any office, we have that one employee who complains about everything including the smell of other people's food. You all know who you are. Ya'll whine and complain until management gives you your own way because they're sick and tired of listening to you.
@lonnie4827
@lonnie4827 4 жыл бұрын
This is a legitimate reason to complain. I had a coworker who had a crockpot at her desk. She came in early and started it. She would cook ribs, fish stews, and greens among other things. The lip would rattle and it would steam. It was absolutely nauseating having to smell. The stink of cooking meat and funky seasonings stuck to our clothes and hair. It's not cool to do within an office space not to mention a fire code violation .

We had a woman who after deciding to go pescatarian seemed to believe she could only get protein from fish (apparently she can't Google) so ate it constantly throughout the day at her desk as she was also trying to get fit and decided smoked kippers and mackeral were the best ones for an office environment. Every. Damn. Day. The entire office would get to the point of groaning as we'd had enough. Weeks turned into months of every day suffering through this constant fish wave of vomit enducing proportions and she'd sit there pretending not to notice. Finally my manager went nuts over it and she was told to stop.

The Shabuki seems wastefully unimpressive, especially at $50. Aroma, InstaPot, CrockPot, and Hamilton Beach all offer mini Rice cooker/slowcooker/steamers for around $30 at almost any Walmart and those options come with timers, digital settings, non-stick coating, etc... The ItakiPro on the other hand looks awesome for a portable cooker.

I once had a 1 cup miniature coffee machine hidden in a corner that I made in the morning in the classroom before the kids arrived and the teacher had issues about that. I was a teaching assistant at the time. This I love but it would never do well at work in America bc they are too hellish, into office politics and starting mess in America. Plus it would be considered a health hazard due to the electrical nature and especially if food is popping or bubbling.
