Part of those shows are cancelled... This year only SNL and A Black Lady Sketch Show got nominated, only two... I know Drunk History got cancelled, did Portlanlandia and Key and Peele too? And I know that Amy Schumer will return eventually, but... There's is a real lack of variety sketch shows recently or there are more and the academy doesn't acknowledge them?

You're ignoring the fact that this is the first year for this category and that Chapelle Show isn't even on the air. Key and Peele were nominated, if you want to ham-fistedly make this about race, it would at least be slightly more apt to mention them.
