We have 3 Kerns in our shop and oh boi are they precise. But sadly they have a lot of other problems. Specially the tool changer. Spindle doesnt open on time / sensors broken / Sensor fails reading tooling ect. Also you can unlock the door mid tool change...

Awesome show, thanks for filming it! Side note about Fanuc pendant - all Japanese equipment interfaces I've seen so far were super non-intuitive and convoluted. I think it's something like a cultural thing.

its the cheapest option for a "decent" cad/cam software that isn't a toy. It is not perfect but in its price range for what it does there really is no competition.

You think that stuffs big you should see the old machines we rebuild and convert to cnc. Talking steel mill roll grinders with 60" swing x 240" length capacity grinding rolls 100k lbs. Most of our machines use a 36" diameter x 3 or 4" wide wheel for some perspective. The stuff we do isnt as fancy as the stuff at this show but they live in some incredibly harsh environments.

A mask with a fairly crimped down nose wire will save you having to adjust it all the time, nice not to have to keep doing that!
