How to Refill an AIO Liquid Cooler #2

My second simple guide on how to change and refill the coolant of an AIO liquid cooler
Details:
This was an idea that I had a while ago, but never needed to execute until now. In the first video, I cut the tubes and fully submerge the radiator to fill it. This idea is a much easier and simpler process. This was my first attempt and, luckily, it was majorly successful at filling the liquid cooler and left almost no air inside afterwards. However, if and when I do this again, I will do a few things differently. Mainly, I will use something else as a reservoir, as the tape did leak slowly. I'm sure if I had given the tape more attention and sealed it better, it would have leaked less or not at all. Other ideas that I have for a reservoir include a short PVC pipe, a bottle, and a cup. I may make another video using this same tactic but refining it and making it better. Thanks for watching!

DONT do this, If you have a AIO like this just undo one of the tubes and get a funnel refill kit, you'd save your self money on a whole new AIO, this is just how you destroy your AIO.

@Yourebeingtrolled I gave you a like regardless but dude seriously 😐 "water". NOOOOOOOO! NEVER! There's a special liquid you need for the liquid cooling to work. Water, whether tap or filtered has particles and sediments i.e. metals that will cause it to clog and heat dissipation will not even happen. At the bare minimum use distilled water to hold you out until you get the proper liquid coolant. Cheers 🍻

Same, bought mine 10 years ago and use it on an i5 9400F in a media center. No maintenance ever, and it does make a faint gurgling sound at 100% pump speed, so there's likely some air trapped in it. Setting it 70% almost gets rid of it entirely though and has no effect on temps seeing as it's such a small loop.

@@EmorindomX I used duck tape and cut out piece of plastic from coke bottle, but I use 2 layers of duck tape. the first goes over to the other side creating something similar to a rubber seal and then the second layer is used to hold the plastic in place. the first layer you can just leave after you are done and just keep the plastic in a tool box to use again.

What a mess. Just hold the cpu block and slowly pour water into its holes then shake the radiator to make sure the water gets inside and air comes out of the cpu block holes. Keep doing it until it's full. Easy
@trsskater
@trsskater 5 ай бұрын
The problem is the air inside will keep water from easily pouring in. His way isn't the most elegant method but it helps to push the liquid down and pull air out since the openings are really small. On a custom loop with bigger holes to pour into you'll have better success with your method.

Distilled water and a 10% of car antifreeze will be fine (even the premixed one, no need to be concentrated). The antifreeze contain all the agents needed to avoid corrosion and lubricate the pump. It has the same components used in the liquid that are used in the AIO by Corsair and Cooler Master.
