Thank you Cory, Kameron, MacKinnon and Michael for standing up to this nonsense. If just hearing or seeing photographs of a noxious sign held by the Westboro Baptist Church puts you in such a tither that you can't study for two weeks, then you don't belong in law school, but rather in intensive mental health treatment. This is especially true for those seeking to become lawyers, because there are many areas of law where you will encounter people behaving badly and in disgusting ways. How can you study the law regarding human trafficking, rape, child abuse, etc. without describing 'triggering' topics?

Not only that, but as a lawyer you're going to have to apply the law equally (sometimes especially) to people who have behaved badly.

On campus and in extracurriculars I have always been open to discussion and discourse, challenging the ideas of others. I’m also in my 30’s (I started college late) so I don’t listen to anyone about “what not to talk about.” I have also been self studying politics for about 13 years and the hard sciences for about 15, so I keep a list of citations for my arguments and am a practiced speaker. Sometimes it takes great argumentation and careful use of tone to sway even the most hardened opponent. It’s a subtle form of manipulation, but I believe it is warranted in today’s society. 😁

That's why you do this as a group--there is strength in numbers. It's a lot harder to harm four people whistle blowing about the same problem than it is to harm one whistle blower. I know. I'm a successful whistle blower. Twice, I decided not to whistle blow because I calculated that that the chances of success were low and the risks to me were too high.

This is a major embarrassment for Emory University, and universities nationwide. We must expose these institutions as the totalitarian echo chambers that they are. Ideological conformity is not a goal - it is a human disaster!
