You are so very right Jenna. Sadly, "what is wrong with the people" is starting to impact people's lives without them knowing it! The issue goes beyond paying less attention to one of the best playwrights of our modern times than a cat sneezing. It is that people simply don't like to pay any attention to anything that requires them to use their brains! They don't like science, literature, economics, politics, and a host of other critically important things. The future is bleak, I am afraid!

Didn't know he was adopted...so sad he didn't know his parents. Seems such a lovely man who deserved the best.

I grew up on campus at UChicago under the nickname Albee. I am finally studying him. People acted out the zoo story with me until It put me in the hopital. I had no idea of what was going on. I was always the straight man in every time they messed with me about it in school. I would liked to have discussed this with Edward Albee himself on twittwr, yet he is deceased.the name Albee ruined my life.Rest in peace Albee, I admire his work yet hate living through them every day of my. life

It's sad to see there's so few views of this. A cat sneezing gets 10 million views, this is partly what's wrong with people today.

Why do all university videos have to begin with 5-10 minutes of university employees spouting platitudes and congratulating each other before letting the guest (the main attraction) speak? In this case Emory "needs" a speaker to give a long-winded introduction to another unknown person who will, eventually, introduce Edward Albee -- the only person anybody in the audience or online wants to hear from at all.

@Bigwave2003 i know, and it is such a type. they always chime in with the intonation of a joke but they never have any sense of humor. who is putting these people in charge of english departments? i just escaped from a whole hoard of them. you have to shame yourself in front of them a little bit and they give you a little piece of paper, and then you go work in a restaurant.

Why do they record these things? The sound is always horrible and the announcers and moderators are always boring and they are not the focus of the event but so badly want to be. It's uncomfortable because they are academics and no group is more inept than academics.
