Having clients get emotional and being appreciative of my skills as a mechanic. This is WHY I love being a mechanic I'm able to help people in some of their worst situations. I made this clients day he started to cry tears of joy for air conditioning on his boat.
Pro's and Cons of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) parts versus after market parts. You have to be careful where you source your parts as a mechanic. Some after market parts can be junk! We have refused installing customer provided parts for this reason.
Watch as our team of experts meticulously assess, disassemble and restore the these boat/yacht projects. Join us in our journey to prove that with hard work, dedication and a little bit of magic, anything is possible. Don't forget the best compliment is to leave a comment and subscribe to our channel for more incredible boat projects!

Trailer wiring is the bane of my existence. I just recently re-did mine, and I spent an extra $25 on Amazon and bought a junction box and wired through that to hopefully provide some more longevity to our already ancient/aging towmaster. A lot more reliable than what the manufacturers send as standard equipment.

You don’t need a strainer cleaner. I suck it dry with a shop vac, disassemble or fill strainer directly in boat quickly with a 50/50 diluted muriatic acid solution for about 3 seconds (fast). Next, rinse with water *immediately* while throwing in some baking soda on and around it to neutralize any residual acid. It will be perfectly clear and it does harm the plastic or seals at all. I have done that every year now for over 20 years. (Perko strainers) Just a quick tip. It is inexpensive and immediate. I also sand blast them when they turn ugly green or when I get them new, you can spray them with canned shellac/clear-coat and they look great for years… (Only spray the bronze not strainer plastic or seals obviously)

curious if you have a log of all the Volvo work that you have done (especially now that you are a Volvo dealer). Would be a good metric .. [ what item, what broke, OEM or equivalent parts used, description of repair, how long the repair lasted ] . a lot of used boats have Volvo and I myself am afraid to get a used Volvo because of .. 1. inadequate mechanics 2. cost of OEM parts 3. OEM parts are not easy or quick to get a hold of 4. inadequate mechanics (I know this is a repeat)
