Tulisa was the other member because she was their coach/mentor during the xfactor and she really fought and encouraged the public for LM to make it to the finals.. the girls said during the show that she's like their big sister :)

Tulisa was a judge, but also the mentor for groups and she supported Little Mix from the beginning and used her save on them the 1st week, because they didn't have enough viewer support yet. She (like Jessie J) were both originally from groups or bands so they know how it's like to be in a group. Tulisa and Jessie put LM through to the live shows because they had to pick 4 out of 8 groups at Judge's House. The LM members had only 2 weeks in between being put together and going to Judge's Houses so they practiced at Perrie's house and made their own harmony arrangements (a lot of people don't know the LM writes a lot of their own material so they know musical composition as well as how to sing). Not just a girl group, they are The Girl Group. If you have the chance, watch the X factor 2011 UK finals performance where mentors duet with the contestants. Tulisa and LM did two Alicia Keys songs together (Empire State of Mind and New York I think) and they smashed it on the way to win. When I first saw the images of them together I also though LM had 5 members.

kiara literally. There was no need to make another girl group and the same label literally a year after little mix. Like what was the point! Didn’t give the girls a chance. He didn’t ruin little mix though. Little mix have still been so successful and left his label and had their own show, hosted the EMAs, got a song ripping him apart and got another number 1, so the joke is on him now oh and his label collapsed 😂😂

Actually that a cappella song with the four of them just standing around (Perrie in green and Leigh-Anne in white) is not a Little Mix song (though they do have writing credits on about half of their own album songs), but a celebrated cover from the group En Vogue called "Don't Let Go". Little Mix sang this twice in their 2011 X factor performance, and the 1st time was after a judge (Gary Bartlow) criticized them for being too predictable pop R&B, while Kelly Rowland mentioned En Vogue in her comments. So Little Mix responded by picking an En Vogue song and it blew everyone away including Bartlow, who began to see them as a legit threat to his contestant mentee afterwards. This was the performance that convinced the viewers that Little Mix could actually win and may deserve to win Xfactor. The 2nd time they performed it was in the finals and it was even better, but the 1st time stood out because it was so shocking to hear just how good they were when the vocals were the focus of the song. If you have the chance check out their Xfactor performances of "Don't Let Go" and you will understand why they won that year.

Don’t let go is a cover they did originally on the XFactor which is the week the started topping the public vote. It’s the song that everyone started to see what they could do. They performed it at the final as well I think. The original is by En Vogue and it one of the best girl group songs of all time. Another British girl group SUGABABES used to love covering it too.
