it absolutely crushed my heart. we as fans we didn't had any idea on what's happening with Celine and we finally had an answer. as a fan it really pisses me off when i see on Facebook or Instagram or somewhere that she died, it was because of the vaccine, and more.. it really makes me mad. I'm just so glad that we got a chance to see her life and we got to see how difficult it is to have SPS. However, after watching it, it made me realize that she is now starting again and she is happy and ready for a comeback. we just love Celine! ... and to add i was also sad about bear passing :(

The sun will rise again, the storms subside again, “and in place of “you will love again, “replace it with “ Will sing again. “The show must go on, but if it can’t, lay down your instrument and or use it in another way, such as vocal coaching for other up-and-coming singers. I watched the film yesterday evening and I thought I was prepared by all the interviews and snippets that have already been shared upfront... Well... I was not! I was a complete mess afterwards. I think the film gave a great insight of how impactful this disease is - especially for her. All she knew was singing and I had the feeling that she somehow lost her identity because of SPS - who am I if I can't sing anymore. That was really heartbreaking. I would have loved hearing from her - when she finally received her diagnose - how she felt in this special moment and what it meant for her, how did she built the team that is helping her now? How did it change the daily routine? If I remember correctly she was diagnosed during this filming project. But apart from that I really appreciate her openness of what it looks like to live with SPS and how she's trying to cope and to move forward. She's such a wonderful human being and as much as I love hearing her sing, I always find it very insprational hearing her talk!

I have wondered about her siblings, they possibly could have all made something in the musical world, but their mom wasn’t in a position to single out any of the older siblings, because there were younger kids that needed attention. I think that coming last, celine had an extra opportunity to become more well known, than her siblings. They also didn’t want to make it professionally by using the name of Dion. Michel was part of a group called "Le Show“, but he didn’t use his name, he sang as Michel St. Clair, so there was no chance that the group were successful based on the Dion name. If you haven’t seen it, you should go look at the clip on KZbin , that was when in 2008, that all the siblings sang together.

I love Celine so much been her fan for about 25 years and the ending of documentary when she recovered from crisis and was singing along brought tears cause what I saw was a person desperate to do what she loves so much but just physically can't, seeing that just torn me to peaces. I have peripheral neuropathy and feel her pain and can totally identify with her struggle, but it seems far more extreme for her..at times and her frustration at her magnificent voice and performance being strongly affected is palpable!!! I also must hold on to objects because of balance and weakness issues. Her vulnerability, bravery courage, strength and refusal to give up is remarkable!!! I learn singing myself and for her singing is like breathing. Her tears, her pain is just too much to watch. Celine is the definition of strength. There were so many things that touched me about the documentary specifically in the beginning when she says this is not how she wants people to hear her, then when in the end even after her episode, she just nods her head when the therapist says this is hard, and just her nod showed that she is willing to go through such episodes just to get her voice back, and in the end she says even if I can't walk, I will crawl. I'm very sure that the universe will do her good as she is such a fighter.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Céline Dion. I can truly empathize with her as I have been living over 50 years with a digestive autoimmune disorder. I have had 2 surgeries and I am on lifetime medication. There are adjustments that I have had to make in my life. On the other hand, there are so many millions of people suffering every day in silence with diseases and with terminal diseases. We don't see them, they don't have a voice. But she has created a foundation to spread awareness about her disease and hopefully, one day find a cure. And to help the other people not feel so alone.

So if you’ve watched it with that audio description, Gilbert, watch it with audio narration of the scenes where there is only action. Just close your eyes, And turn on the accessibility features of your Amazon device so that audio description… Narration of the action scenes by humans and or TTS can take place. Ok. I just watched the documentary twice. Here are my thoughts. Celine Dion has been given, by the powers that be, a one in a Billion voice. She has handled this wonderful gift with grace, humility, class and beauty. Now she has been given a one in a million disease,by the powers that be. As this movie shows she is never given anything that she doesnt find a way to help others. Her opening up this way will do nothing but good for people that have the same or similar challenges. Everyone needs to remember that she did not have to open up this way. I now hope that whatever she does will be for her own wellness and that of her family. If she never sings on a stage again she should know that she has left us with so many mind blowing performances that there will never be another like her. Be well Celine❤

Honestly , for me it was immensely heartbreaking seeing an icon going thru all stages of spams, absolutely raw and unfiltered, I’ve no words, it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, speechless. AsQuébécois number one fan of Céline, I can assure you that all her brothers and sister love her with all their heart. Don’t forget that she’s the baby of the family and she have six years difference with the youngest the twins, Paul, and Pauline her holders siblings well already dad and mom when she was like one and also she helped them. She gave them jobs. None only with her tour and things, but she buy a restaurant chain just for a family so they have a good job and some of her sisters sing with her at the beginning of a carrier, but they choose to be moms, so they’re very proud of their little sister and I think she have done so much more they ever wish to do

I must say, seeing her "episode" was painful. I know about SPS in a medical terminology sense, so i knew what to expect. With that being said, seeing her struggle with "Love Again" was harder to watch. Her heartbreak with her voice is so sad. Just soul wrenching. I pray for her all the time, and will continue to do so. But what about that song she was singing near the end after her "episode"?? I dont know that song but there is one thing i did know. That open chest belt was still amazing to hear. As always, thank you for your dedication in bringing all this information to us Celine brothers and sisters. Because we're more than her fans. We're her family.

I cried as well during the viewing, as I’m doing now while running,. I thought it was gonna be worse though, or a 911 was gonna have to be called. It was difficult to watch by the end of it, obviously... I love singing. And when I was a kid I really wanted to be a singer. I've never got to do it professionally. When I was a teen, I was saying I wish I had the voice of Celine Dion. Among all other great voices, if I got to choose, I'd definitely want to have Celine's voice. I feel just too sad, too bad seeing that she "kind of" lost it to this awful illness. But I believe in her. She'll rock on the stage again one day. Her sick voice is a hundred times better than my healthy one. :)) That song she's trying over and over again in the documentary is actually a quite difficult song. And she's amazing even when she thinks it's not even close to what she's expecting from herself. I understand. She's obviously, naturally comparing it with her younger, healthier version. Well, life is rarely ever fair to anyone. I just can't bear seeing her cry, seeing her in physical and emotional pain. I don't want her to cry. I don't want her to question and doubt who she is now with this illness, without her flawless performance. I would want her to know, that everyone already knows who she is, what she's capable of, we know her magic, her lovely energy, and a stupid illness can't ever possibly erase any of it. It's just simply not possible.

If she was used to taking 90 mg of valium a day, she probably got addicted to benzodiazepines. SPS was surely not the only battle she has been facing in the last years. Also, the way her therapist(?) acts during her crisis by staying super focused and calm, shows me that there must have happened many episodes like this before. He knew exactly how to handle the situation.

She pretty much alludes to addiction in the interview she did with Hoda. She said she took more and more over time and then by the time she was taking so much that it could be lethal despite it barely doing anything, she started weaning herself off taking it with the help of doctors because it wasn’t safe to just quit cold turkey. Many drugs’ withdrawals can kill you if you just stop taking them cold turkey. She was DEFINITELY addicted for sure.

She was not an addict but definitely had to take something to try to control the condition she was suffering and that, tragically, nobody could figure out what it was. And for which there is no cure... yet. But who knows what the next 2-3 years will bring...

@@josephtafurshe mentions that in the interview she did with Hoda. She was taking like 90mg of Valium a day which is a MASSIVE amount and super unsafe, which she acknowledged. She had to wean herself off it with the help of doctors because it’s also not safe to go from taking that much to not taking any at all.

You are absolutely right. I really try not to use the word triggering but it really did trigger me. She looked like she was dying and it brought me back to when my grandmother was dying from dementia and she was trapped in her body - literal torture. I had the biggest break down watching this scene. I just wanted to hug her and tell her it’s going to be ok. And for the love of God someone needed to wipe her tears and just comfort her. So hard to watch. I appreciate that i wasn’t alone in my breakdown. 😢

Loved the documentary and as a lifetime fan who loves all her songs (including the rarities), I appreciated seeing the rare footage of her early performances and home videos. Her condition is heartbreaking and the footage was raw, but as fans we can hope that Celine copes with her condition with the immense courage and grace as she always has in her life. ❤

I was shocked and saddened; if she can sing again, like she wants to, I think it will be a miracle. She needs lots of prayers. I pray she can accomplish that; she, IMO, is the best female singer of all time.

She might be able to sing, but sing different songs. And I am afraid she will have to fully realize that because she has not yet. Surprisingly. And sing in meticulously controlled environment, and for short period of time. (Doesn't she try to sing in the documentary without having sung in years and not having warmed-up her voice ? Sorry but only the dumbest singers do that... What can you expect?). And sing only when the treatments allow total control of the illness, because too many normal situations can trigger a crisis or pain. This said, since the filming of this documentary, she has gotten better. Her mission at this point is NOT to go back to performing. Finding a cure for her and others is going to be a full-time job.

OK just finished watching it. I'm a mess!!! Shaken up at the beginning and the end!!! Breaks my heart of what she's gone through especially something autoimmune. Sooooo scary. In 2016. I went through a really scary autoimmune virus where I got mysteriously paralyzed waste down. Really scary for me not being able to walk, fun, or be active. Grueling and intense but I made a miracle speedy recovery. I am standing again on my own 2 feet!! That time of my mysterious paralyzation was crazy.... I initially was supposed to attend Celine's free NYC concert she gave on The Today Show. I was in the hospital going through all the testings. Sadly, I couldn't go. I did see Celine prior at Madison Square Garden on her Taking Chances Tour and I did eventually get to see her again a few years later on the Courage Tour in Brooklyn....her last major NY concert before COVID & what was revealed. Pray for Celine!!! So humble, passionate, dedicated, and cares for what she wants & for everyone around her.

Great review! I really liked everything you said :) This documentary is amazing. Celine is an absolute badass for being so open about the fact that even someone as disciplined & “clean” as her ended up getting addicted to hardcore medication like so many greats before her (MJ, Prince, Houston, Britney, Judy Garland etc.) - it really shows that becoming a global superstar truly comes with an incredible pressure that’s almost impossible to cope with, without drugs/medication. As you said it’s the first time ever that we hear her talking so precisely about the way her voice works and her different singing techniques - and also about how aware she is of how special her talent and capabilities are/were. A side of Celine we’ve never seen before. For me who's been following her closely for decades, everything makes sense now, since her “Taking chances” tour I kept wondering why she was contracting her throat so much when she’d be singing live, I could tell she was putting a lot of effort and her sound (although still very good) seemed unnecessarily harsh, and i kept thinking “why isn’t she just relaxing her throat more? It would be so much easier”, she was literally battling her condition every second during every performance, using more and more physical strength to get the notes out, this is insane that she’s had to physically push through her symptoms like that for so long. 💔 I was also quite surprised about the way she could express her thought so simply and eloquently and say smart things with sentences that made complete sense in the documentary. This is not the Celine we see in interviews, who often struggles to finish her sentences intelligibly or will make points using weird overblown comparisons, or will even at times make very little sense at all. She’s actually a very smart lady - like, very very smart! Who knew! 😅 One last thing that’s really really good about the documentary and that’s rarely been presented so accurately is how once you go passed her mega famous power ballads + more pop-ish hits, her music catalogue is also filled with proper jazzy, bluesy, rock & folk music, all the French deep cuts that we hear, her exploration of dancehall too…. Something so quintessentially French Canadian, and even “Creole” North American, about her musical tastes and artistry there. Creatively this is what truly sets Celine apart from all the other great female vocalists that are in her league, so unique to her. Musically, this is closer to the real Celine! Well done to Irene Taylor for really emphasizing this!

@@kiwi57ie not really, it was/is almost always medication prescribed by doctors... Celine stands out because she's never been a party girl, but when it comes to substance usage as such I see zero difference with other artists, she says it herself, she's been prescribed dangerous amounts of drugs, she got to a point where when she wanted to stop she couldn't because she literally was physically addicted and had to gradually come off of them, she mentioned valium because it is probably the most socially acceptable hardcore medication to discuss without looking like a junkie, but she also said in many interviews that there was a lot of other stuff she was (and potentially is still) using - I'm pretty sure that this includes strong pain killers like opioids, possibly amphetamines, etc. It's interesting for me because I remember when she got so mad during that 2012 interview about Whitney Houston's death, when she said the industry is dangerous, artists have to take pills to go to bed, pills to wake up, pills to perform, I'm realizing now that she was already going through it herself and a lot of that anger was probably related to her own fear of what could eventually happen to herself... :(

Whew the spasm scene 🎬..my heart was racing, why didn’t they call 911. I understand they were trying to stabilize her but at any moment it really could have gotten even worse. I wish they would have called 911 and if they didn’t need then 911 then at least they would have been there. A blood pressure cuff and a nasal spray was not enough and for those standing at the door just looking and texting 💬 no way. Those two at door had no value and it was not a show! Her privacy should have been first! Lord, this was tuff.

It seems like she had been through this several times before and the guy who was taking care of her is also a physical therapist (therefore medical professional). If it had gotten worse they would have called 911 but they knew how to treat her and what to do in that situation. Highly doubt that the people at the door were just standing there, one of them was on the phone explaining her situation probably to a doctor.

There are many of us who have been waiting and wanted to watch the movie, but it turns out that it is not available at all and we cannot watch it. It seems to be available only in Anglophone and Francophone countries and maybe a few others. Celine has huge fans in other regions of the world who equally love and adore her. I personally was ready to buy the movie, but that's not possible either. So if someone can download and upload the movie on you tube, many of us would appreciate it.🙏🙏🙏
