In TNA at least they did actually put stock in him. I would say as a promotion they did the most right by him, which TBQH is a high compliment for TNA given their track record with guys like AJ Styles (he was big but he should have been their John Cena and instead he tended to live below old WWE talents).

Cool and entertaining as this was, these two are in their 50s. About the same age as Terry Funk when these two were in their prime...a quarter of a century ago. The fact that these guys need to carry a show like this that should be carried by guys half their age should say something. The fact that the industry has had to rely on performers over 45 to pop ratings over the last fifteen or so years should say something. We shouldn't be celebrating this as a significant moment. We should be asking ourselves why these guys, guys who have close to thirty years in the industry need to carry a show. This would be like seeing a similar segment between Terry Funk and Ricky Steamboat in ECW a quarter century ago. A segment like that would have straight up gotten booed out of the building back then. So why are we lionizing this?
