Just hearing stuff like this, and seeing stuff all laid out in FL just inspires me every time. I've been trying to get a grip on how to make something sound good and professional. Even just getting a nice sounding bass and stuff is super hard for me. I'm considering grabbing this to study and finally get a look at how you've mixed channels, and the juice behind the movement of the synths and stuff, but just a quick question, how much Spire is used here and how much Omni? I own Spire but will be sometime before I pick up Omni I think. I'd definitely be interested in grabbing an Uplifting Trance template that uses a lot of Spire and/or Sylenth1 (I plan on grabbing it next sale) as they are the easiest for me to understand (and of course, you know, money and all that). And maybe dumb question but do these come with the big preset files (I forget the name) for Spire? I love the sounds you've used here, but was wondering if these would come with more presets maybe? Thanks much, really appreciate the effort you and many others go through for helping and inspiring others out. I've not fully devoted like a big chunk of time and effort to music production, but I've messed with FL on and off and had interest in it for maybe a decade now and I've not gotten very far haha but with something like this I feel like I can learn a lot!

So this has been up nearly a year and I personally think this deserves a lot more views than it has. I don't think some people realise how much work goes into something like this when there's very small tweaks on filters etc that most viewers speakers might not pick up or don't have the ear for. I wish I could be this good with fruity loops but I get as far as a melody and give up because there's so much to learn in FL studio
@RowanvanBeckhoven4 жыл бұрын
While this is very true for a lot of projects, these type of projects are not perfect in any sense. This usually takes about 5-10 hours of work, of which most is the 'creative' phase. On projects that I actually finish, I sometimes end up with 30+ hours, depending on how much time I spent trying to perfect every tiny detail and eventually accepting that it's never going to be perfect ;) And yes, there is so much to learn in FL Studio, but of course that will take time! I also started by making godawful things, but looking at where I am now, I would do it all over again
@DeanD19904 жыл бұрын
@@RowanvanBeckhoven Awesome, That's dedication right there. I would really like to be this good in FL at some point but between working in IT and personal life I really don't know how much time I could put into this. However if I do become better I will obviously put more money into buying new VSTi's. Part of my problem I think is that I try to dive straight into making uplifting and emotional trance style tracks since they are very powerful in my opinion (especially with a classical piano and/or violin somewhere in there) but I should maybe go back and start from the basics again. Anyway, keep up the good work. I really like watching your videos and I would consider myself picky when it comes to music.
@RowanvanBeckhoven4 жыл бұрын
@@DeanD1990 Yeah I know what you mean. I think what you say is very true. Uplifting trance tracks can be quite overwhelming to start off with. You could for instance start off by trying to remake some classical trance tracks. These tend to have few and very distinct elements (bass, percussion, pluck/lead). This also is a great way to learn a bit about structure, composition and chord progression things. Thanks, that's always nice to hear!
@DeanD19904 жыл бұрын
@@RowanvanBeckhoven Chord progression is definitely something I need to pick up on. I feel that once I have pads and melody down I should be good to go but then it comes down to structure after that as you say. And it makes no sense having everything out on the playlist and sounding good individually, but in the wrong places when listening to the full song (which I do a lot surprisingly considering I listen to a lot of trance). With the right instruments and some good presets for them maybe I could push past that barrier one day as I'm sometimes put off by the fact that something doesn't sound right after I have placed some keys in piano roll and when I try to adjust things it doesn't get any better so I just sack it off. I have been looking at East-west piano recently. I'll definitely take your advice and try to re-create something. Maybe even purchase some of your content from Beatport to analyse/listen to after Christmas and new year is out of the way. That way I'm not constantly closing tabbing between KZbin and FL when I have an idea. Would you teach someone some tips/tricks for payment? If so how much? because I can only learn so much from videos since I'm the kind of person to learn better by doing while being told/shown like screen sharing or Skype. (also apology's for the many messages) Thanks

Haha, I wish.. There's a lot of time spent producing things that I end up throwing away. But I see that as part of a process, which eventually results in something like this. And yes, sometimes it feels like some wave of inspiration hit me and everything that I come up with sounds great.
